Review summary

First cruise for my honeymoon! Had a very wonderful experience with everyone on board. Definitely recommend a Royal Caribbean cruise. Make sure you plan properly if you want a more kid friendly or younger crowd. Leaving on a Monday in the beginning of May was wonderful for having a small amount of children and a quiet group. We spent most of our time in the Solarium and the Schooner Bar.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We arrived 30 minutes earlier than our appointment time and were on the ship in a matter of minutes. It was nice getting on early in the morning so you have plenty of time to explore before a lot of people are on.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Oh my goodness! I will dream about the roast beef sandwich with gravy from the Solarium snack bar for the rest of my life. Main dining room was wonderful as well. We had steak most nights. Windjammer was amazing. Everything was so delicious and it gave us an opportunity to try so many new things. The beef casserole on top of some white rice was my favorite. Chops Grille was delicious as well. Filet mignon and gruyere tater tots.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
My favorite activity was sitting around doing NOTHING. We spent most of our time in the Solarium laying by the pool. It was very calm and quiet.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We didn't attend any shows but the main band in the Centrum was amazing. They played our wedding song and we were trying to rush down to dance to it. We finally got down there and they kept the song going to we could dance to it. It was magical.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Evrard was our steward. He was delightful and always made us a towel animal. Rey and Ida in the Schooner Bar were our favorite bartenders. Ehran, the main dining room head waiter was so accommodating and helpful. Ronaldo in Chops Grille was the best server I've ever had. And Alain at guest services was so great and helpful.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Classy and clean. Such a nice ship for being older. They were doing maintenance while we were on board but nothing I would complain about.

Ship tip

It might not be the newest, most exciting ship but for people who want a smaller quieter cruise experience, this ship is for you.

Disembarkation

We did self disembarkation. It was very simple. I was concerned with the stairs because we had one extremely large, heavy suitcase but it was so easy. We got there at 7:15 and were off the ship by 7:45

Another ship tip, if you sleep hot, BRING A SMALL FAN. I woke up sweating every night. The room only gets so cold and there is not much moving air so it can get a little stuffy.
