Review summary

It was an okay cruise. A very much needed vacation, but it could have been MUCH better. This ship needs improvements or retirement. The food was mediocre, and the service was good. The activities were good. There was not a whole lot to do for my 17 year old, but that is expected given her age. I reccomend trying other boats before this one, but i wouldn’t say don’t go on this boat.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Embarkation was fairly easy, except the person who was printing off our seapass cards did not know what he was doing, and it took about 25-30 minutes.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The dining rooms and buffet seating areas were clean, and the service was (mostly) excellent, especially for dinner (in the dining room). Although the service was good, the food quality was just mediocre. It was never ever hot and there wasn’t much flavor to it. The lukewarm(ness) of it ruined the entire meal.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The pools were very nice, and there were always fun activities going on or movies playing, etc. Although it was raining most of our trip, the few times that we sat by the pool was enjoyable. The rock climbing wall and bunjee jumping was closed almost the entire duration of the cruise. And if it was open, it was only for a short scheduled time. I never got to experience them. The games and activities that were scheduled onboard were very fun. We participated in as much as possible. One of our stops was cancelled, so the entertainment director provided us with in-promptu day-at-sea activities, which was impressive.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We saw a few shows in the Orphium theatre including the magician, the movie about pirates, and the show including songs from famous movies. It was all very good. The musicians/djs were mostly good, but out by the pool they played inappropriate music (when there are mostly children playing outside)

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
the children never wanted to leave! it was awesome!

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
our waiters were very nice, they provided excellent service. our room steward named Dash was EXCELLENT. he was incredible. very nice, always spoke to us in the hallways, and cleaned our rooms very fast and well. made excellent towel animals, as well. other ship personnel were somewhat friendly, but rude at times. overall good.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The ship was clean, but very old. It was somewhat small. It needed LOTS of renovation or retirement. It was still functional, but it didn’t look very nice.

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
The cabin was WAY too small for 4 people. Bed was kind of comfortable (not the bunk beds, though). Not a good amount of storage space. A very tight space.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

4 out of 5
Embarkation/Debarkation were fairly easy.

Nassau, Bahamas

3 out of 5
We did not do an excursion. It was raining very hard. We walked around the city and did a little bit of shopping in the rain. Not a very clean city but it shows a good representation of island life. I recommend visiting the actual city on a carriage ride.

Cococay (Cruise Line's Private Island) Did not visit port

Cancelled because of weather.

Key West, Florida

4 out of 5
Beautiful city. I recommend renting a golf cart and exploring the city on your own. You can stop and get on/off as you please. It was very nice.. weather held out for us on this stop.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
We chose to disembark on our own by carrying our luggage off the ship, rather than setting it out the night before, and it made everything much much easier. We basically got up and grabbed a bite to eat, and walked straight off the ship and straight into our uber to our hotel. VERY easy, recommend.

I prefer the smaller ships, but for kids/teenagers they can be a bit boring. The larger ships are overwhelming for me. Too many people, everywhere; longer lines, more pee in the pool 😁

Sorry to read you were disappointed in the cruise for you and your daughter. You have obviously decided next cruise is on a different ship. Good luck, and hope you have a more enjoyable time next cruise.

It's a personal preference. I don't like the smaller ships not enough to do. The larger ships to me have better good and entertainment. Although I like allure better than freedom or Oasis or enchantment so I'm sure once I sail on harmony in May that will be my new favorite.

I think the Enchantment OTS is just fabulous, it is going to dry dock later this year. I will be sailing her for the 3rd time in February... Always liked the smaller ships. Larger ships didn’t have the best food or service and I have been in many cruises to compare not just one or two

I agree. We went on enchantment 3 years ago and since we had no expectations were very happy just drinking and relaxing as a couple but then we went on two larger ships and went on enchantment again and we're very very disappointed with the food and entertainment etc. We only sail on Oasis class ships for this reason and I'm sure your 17 year old would agree they're the best
