Review summary

Though we are frequent travelers, this  was our first cruise and it was to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. We were amazed at the ship, Enchantment of the Seas, with the food, the onboard entertainment, and the service from all of the crew members we came in contact with. We didn't like being tethered to our "SeaPass" for everything, even though they made every opportunity to call us by name. We loved the room with balcony. It was clean and spacious. The ports of call in Nassau and Key West were real good, but the people at the stops are on you like flys at a picnic. We did not like Coco Cay at all. It felt like we were cattle. The island just felt very commercialized and was just totally set up to accommodate massive amounts of people. It just turned us off totally. It was not pretty at all in my opinion. There were so many people in and out of the water it was milky, not at all the crystal clear Caribbean we saw at Nassau and Paradise Island. Anyway, we can say we went on a cruise, but doubt we will be doing it again anytime soon.

Very nice cabin. ActuallyBe a lot more spacious than I thought it was going to be.

Ship tip

The food is included, amazing and delicious, but the "premium soft drinks-i.e. soda pop" are not included, they are extra. No alcoholic drinks are included either, those are sold in drink packages by the day and by quality of the liquor/beer you want, but they are unlimited. Internet is expensive too

We did go to another smaller island and did the stingray interaction. It was the highlight of the trip for me and my wife.

If you are not looking for a 7 night cruise, then wait till the end of October or Beginning of November, Royal Caribbean will do 5 nights through the winter. Try it then.

There is a lot more to enjoy on the larger ships. Been on Enchantment several times and always enjoyed it. But the Liberty and Independent are great ships with lots to do. The Royal Promenade are the hi lites of these ships.

If you enjoyed part of the cruise, PLEASE take a cruise on a larger ship. We are going on Freedom for the third time and have also enjoyed Independence, a sister to Freedom. This ship is larger and has much more to enjoy. Get a cruise that goes by Labidee. It is really nice and you WILL enjoy it. Glad you had some fun too! This will be on our 16 the cruise this Christmas.

My first cruise was on the Freedom of the Seas. I would strongly recommend taking a 7 night cruise aboard her or one of her sister ships, Independence or Liberty. Then make your decision about never crossing again.

Enchantment is one of the older/smaller ships. Don't cheat yourself, you must try a newer/bigger ship. If you were amazed at Enchantment your jaw will drop on their other class ships.
