The medallion app is a great tool that Princess cruises have added to some of the ships. Being on new tool there is still some fine-tuning required. When the wait staff was trying to deliver our drinks to us around the pool it was like watching a “Where Waldo show” as sometimes they had difficulty in finding us. If you order a drink poolside keep an eye out for the person delivering your drinks - it will make their job easier.
The ship was less than half full as part of their covid protocols. It carries 3600 passengers and a crew of 1346 and there were only about 1800 passengers the first part of the 20 day cruise and 1400 the second 10 days. The crew was only 1400 out of 1346 You never had to hunt for a seat at the buffet or anywhere on the ship. Empty lounge chairs everywhere on the decks at the buffet or in the restaurants. Great employees everywhere with covid protocols well established so you feel vey safe.
The ship doesn’t have an outside promenade deck. I think that if the ship were full with passengers, available deck space around the pool decks would be crammed. Though the ship is beautiful, it seems to be tailored more so as to keep passengers inside the ship. I preferred the Grand or Ruby class ship design.
Enjoy the stunning Piazza with the International Cafe and rotating musical acts. Ask about the couples pass for the spa. Skip the Bistro for the Crown Grill.
Not quite back to Princess standards for food and entertainment, but never had to wait in line for anything and chairs for the pool are always available. Love the infinity pool on 16!
If you like same waiters, same time and table they say just pick same time on app but you have to stay on them or you will get moved nightly and wait longer. Should be fixed or amytime option like always!
Get reservations for specialty dining and sanctuary the first hours you board the ship. They fill up fast. We did decently but if you are looking for a specific date or time you could be disappointed if you wait to make reservations.
The mini suite balcony is really small and if u share it with someone, the sliding doors are hard to get out. The cabin itself is a nice size but who stays inside? The beds have duvets and they are hot while sleeping, request a blanket for comfort.
