Review summary

Overall a good experience because we were visiting such amazing places. The ship itself was okay but we don't really like the onboard events or shopping. It was our first cruise and we generally enjoyed ourselves, but there were multiple inconveniences that were frustrating.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Port was annoying to get to from Rome

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Restaurants were generally good quality food, although a bit repetitive. The pizza place was my favorite

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The pool area and hot tubs were very nice, we spent most of our free onboard time there

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The music could have been better - the DJ repeated a lot of the same music each day. The movie choices for the big screen above the pool were generally good. I wish there was more karaoke!

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Service was very inconsistent - between slower restaurant and bar service, or room service losing multiple orders, we were frustrated. Also the Princess app is absolutely terrible and malfunctioned constantly

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The common areas were nice and well maintained, but the cabin room got musty very quickly. There was not ventilation and everything felt damp all the time

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Small size, not balcony so no ventilation. The bed was comfortable but that was really the biggest plus about the room. The upgrade to a room with a balcony was incredibly expensive and not worth it

Ship tip

The biggest perks are the ports and cities along the way. Don't spend time in your rom or on the boat

Ports of call

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

Annoying to get to from Rome

Naples, Italy

5 out of 5
Easy access, lots to go nearby. We hiked Vesuvius and it was lovely

HERAKLION, CRETE, GREECE

Kusadasi (Ephesus), Turkey

Istanbul, Turkey

Very long entry way to the port - be prepared to walk

Mykonos, Greece

3 out of 5
The ports on the Greek isles are so small, they can't handle multiple cruise ships at once. Passengers are shuttled from the ship to the portside in waves and it takes forever. The Princess crew did not plan the logistics of this well

Piraeus (Athens), Greece

4 out of 5

Santorini, Greece

2 out of 5
The ports on the Greek isles are so small, they can't handle multiple cruise ships at once. Passengers are shuttled from the ship to the portside in waves and it takes forever. The Princess crew did not plan the logistics of this well. We almost missed our excursion

Kotor, Montenegro

4 out of 5
Again, it took forever to shuttle everyone from the ship to the port. Princess did not plan well and we were nearly late for our boat tour. Once we arrived, it was incredible

Messina, Sicily

5 out of 5
Very easy access

Barcelona, Spain

4 out of 5
Easy access but taxi prices out of the port are very very inflated
