Review summary

A upscale cruise with mostly senior 60+ passengers. Very relaxing, not to have to dodge kids running around. Loved having the paper activity schedule each day, the app was not user friendly for activities.

Embarkation

Our medallion was mailed but we did not receive it. We called Princess to let them know so they would have medallions at the port for pickup. Of course, there were no medallions, we had to get a sail card to board, then wait at guest services to have them make new medallions. We then went to the muster station where the medallions did not work and we were sent back to guest services. Very frustrating experience UUGGHHH

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Dine my way , was seated quickly and service was very good. Very nice variety of entrees and appetizers each night.

Sabatini's Italian Trattoria

Highly recommend, loved the lobster tortellini, eggplant parmigiana and dessert sampler.

La Mer

Did not like the sampler appetizer, very bland. Average food, not worth the extra $$$

Crown Grill

5 out of 5

Excellent service, and fantastic food. Loved the goat cheese and beet salad, surf and turf, and warm chocolate mousse trifle

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We went to several golf putting contests, and lots of trivia contests. A very nice fitness center, with a wide variety of fitness machines. We loved the Retreat pool, but can get crowded. Deal or no deal was fun and the Liars club was a hoot!

Entertainment

4 out of 5
We saw 2 comedians, first one was not funny, but loved Max Dolcelli. Rock Opera was average did not know a lot of the music. The Piazza had some great musicians, a steel drum musician, and a funny juggler.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room steward was awesome, very accommodating and cleaned our room quickly. The waiters were friendly and attentive.

Cabin / Stateroom

A junior suite, lots of closet space, plus 2 cabinets with 6 drawers. Bedside tables had USB outlets. The bathroom had a tub shower, with several safety bars, also liquid hand and shower soap and shampoo. Did not like the comforter quilt, was too heavy and warm

Ship tip

All specialty dining was reserved but I checked daily for openings and did find a few openings.

Ports of call

Fort-De-France, Martinique

Our island excursion was on a modern bus with a/c and bottled water for the guests. Went to see Sacred Heart church on the hill, beautiful view, a huge botanical garden, and the Clemon estate and rum factory. Very scenic drive with many sugar cane and banana fields.

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

3 out of 5
Only a few port shops, and a craft market nearby. Pretty harbor but not much to see walking in town.

Pointe-A-Pitre, Guadeloupe

3 out of 5
A large city, but not very scenic. Our excursion stops were a small waterfall, a cemetery and St Francois beach. A 5 hour bus ride, not at all impressed.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

Always very hot, we always stop at CVS for snacks and items we forgot.
