Review summary

Overall a great cruise. Due to having kids, I think I prefer RCI, but I would say Princess is now my second favorite line. I guess when I'm old and my kids have moved out, I know which cruise line I would pick. 😉

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Easy, smooth and relatively quick.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Typical cruise ship fare. Nothing spectacular, but all good.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Wish there was more for the kids, but I guess Princess is geared more to the older crowd.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Cruise director and staff were AMAZING. Some of the best I have experienced

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
There wasn't a lot, but what they had was excellent

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All staff was awesome. Our stateroom steward Ricardo was the bomb.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Brand new ship. Very beautiful and clean. I wasn't impressed with the layout. Several dead ends made navigation tricky at times. Very small promenade deck made it impossible to walk around the entire ship. No deck access forward which was disappointing. Most of not all balconies on deck 8 obstructed by tenders due to limited promenade. Overall a nice, clean very beautiful but poorly designed ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin was nice. Plenty of space (for a cruise stateroom that is. 😉)

Ship tip

Don't plan on strolling around the promenade, and if you eat in Amalfi, remember you have to access it by going down the aft elevator/stairs from deck 7. If you try to access it on deck 6 you will be blocked by a dead end at the gallery. If you have kids, they may be bored on sea days (no waterslides etc). Other than that, be prepared for an awesome cruise!

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

5 out of 5
It's Florida...not much else to say.

Bonaire, Netherlands Special Municipality

5 out of 5
Great snorkeling. They also sell salt from their island. All kinds. Really cool place.

Roseau, Dominica

5 out of 5
Beautiful island. Very green and tropical. If you get motion sickness take meds before taking a taxi anywhere because it's a very mountainous island. Check out Trafalgar Falls and Titou Gorge. You won't be disappointed. Amazing country.

Willemstad, Curacao

5 out of 5
Wonderful island. I think if I ever picked an island to live on in the Carribean it would be Curacao. Floating bridge is cool.

Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island)

5 out of 5
Nice port. Only downside is it's a tender port due to the protected reef.

St. George's, Grenada

5 out of 5
Grand Anse beach is awesome. Take the water taxi from the cruise port. Five bucks and they take you right to the beach. Beautiful country.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
Beautiful island. Go to Magens Bay Beach. You won't be disappointed.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Easiest disembark I have ever had

Thanks for the review. Yes good observation that although kids are welcome on Princess, that is not their focus.

Thanks for your review. I'm very happy Princess isn't for kids. One of the reasons I like it so much 😁
