Overall, with all the negative circumstance, and going to a Major port (Oslo) the Princess knew was dead on a Sunday, I would NEVER have one on this cruise.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
Pre ordered medallion papers lost - no medallion in our name - got paper ticket to get onboard
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The Chefs, staff, and waiters deserve 4 stars. Food wise should have been better. The same protein was used over several servings with different sauces and spices as well as being recycled in different formats. Otherwise, the Market Fresh did an excellent job of presenting and stationing food of different cultures.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Not as good as it used to be before Covid
Entertainment
2 out of 5
Musicians deserve 4 stars. Princess group Stage shows almost 3 stars. Headline entertainers 2 stars - except for the Violinist and the Barricade Boys they are 5 stars
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
Waiters and room stewards get 5 stars. Other ship personnel played their roll according to the Princess playbook.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Ship staff very attentive and kept the areas clean and comfortable. Also, very aware of sanitizing the furniture.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
First overall 5 star rating given.
Ship tip
If you are an American traveling in Europe you need to be aware. Princess will cater to those guests. Example, TV channels in your stateroom TV. 1 is the ship's cam, 3 are British news, 3 are either British soccer , sports news, or Australian football, l is CNBC World News, 1 is old National Geographic, 2 are very old Amazon Prime. Want USA news or sports- not here. Even arriving and docking in New York for 2 days, Princes turned of the TV.
Why take us to a port on a Sunday when you know that the entire city historically shuts down on that day. No shops open, no townspeople walking, ver little transportation available. Literally nothing to do in the port except to tour a dead city on a Princess Bus
Hired our own guide for the day. Took us to all the places one should go to ( and then much more ) as well as beating the busses in doing so. Best way to see Cork.
Only because Captain skipped Boston and spent an extra day in port in New York. Uneventful and boring activities onboard. PRINCESS ALSO TURNED OFFTHE TV ON BOTH DAYS. NO SPORTS, NO NEWS CHANNELS, NO STOCK MARKET, JUST A BLANK SCREEN AND NOBODY COULD FIX IT !!!
First day in port had all guests disembark the ship and sit in the cruise terminal for 4 hours while the ship, crew, and passengers went thru immigration.
I going to have to question the legitimacy of this review. Perhaps cruising isn't for you, and I find that your review is skewed in some ways. The last place I would go to for a legitimate review of a cruise ship or cruise line is on this app, since there are too many trolls or just people who like to say negative crap because they can.
Thanks for the review. Cruising standards have been lowered across most cruise lines since Covid. Most cruise lines have the television stations based on the majority of their passengers. I’m not sure why you thought a cruise with mostly Europeans would have American television stations. If you get an Internet package, you should be able to access any website you want to keep up with News anywhere in the world.
