Review summary

Overall this was a great cruise. It was our 7th cruise on Princess and we are already planning our next cruise. My only real criticism of the Emerald Princess is the spa. Be careful that you are charged the prices that are quoted. Know that gratuities are already included. If you want to add more that’s up to you but they aren’t always up front about this. And if you qualify for a discount due to your loyalty level you will probably have to ask for it.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was simple and moved quickly

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The main dining rooms were great. Only part of the buffet was open but the quality was good. Stay away from the Salty Dog Gastropub. The service was very slow and some of the food was terrible. First time on a Princess cruise we actually sent food back

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Pools were great and not crowded at all. Some of the activities by the cruise staff could use some work

Entertainment

3 out of 5
There seemed to be other events such as sporting events showing instead of movies under the stars which was disappointing

Children's Programs

There were no children in our party

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The service and staff were excellent. No complaints.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship is brand new. Clean and easy to move around in.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
The cabin was cool (for once) but seemed to be one of the smallest we’ve ever had on a Princess ship

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

Basseterre, St. Kitts

Roseau, Dominica

Could not move past the port area unless you had an excursion booked. This stop was a waste of time.

Nassau, Bahamas

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarkation moved slow but we were told it had to do with customs. Once everything seemed to catch up we were able to move through the process quickly.
