Review summary

Overall good except as stated this itinerary is very aggressive at the beginning. Could use a sea earlier in the cruise.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
No elite line because of space.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Many choices and options. Magdalena one of the head waiters was outstanding and always brought us an appetizer off the menu to try. She was the best.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Always something going on.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Excellent except first comedian was a disaster.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone from room steward to MDR folks were great. Kenny was another outstanding bar worker that worked the elite lounge and took very good care of us.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Emerald is starting to show her age. Exterior needs a paint job.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Ok but showing age.

Ship tip

Our itinerary was very aggressive and needed a sea day sooner.

Ports of call

Le Havre (Paris), France

4 out of 5
Took the St Michel tour off ship. Very aggressive tour with many steps to climb plus travel time is 3 hours to and three hours back.

St. Peter Port, Guernsey, Channel Islands

5 out of 5
Interesting port.

Invergordon (Inverness & Loch Ness), Scotland

5 out of 5
Took a tour from Aviator and it was good.

Cobh (Cork), Ireland

5 out of 5
Took a tour off ship and it was great. Used Shore Excursions.

South Queensferry (Edinburgh), Scotland

5 out of 5
Did a hop on hop off bus as we have visited before and saw the Brittania, Queens former ship.

Dun Laoghaire (Dublin), Ireland

5 out of 5
Guinness tour is a no miss stop.

Liverpool, England

4 out of 5
Did the Beatle tour from the ship. A little rushed.

Southampton (London), England

5 out of 5
Went in a day early an stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn at terminal 3 and it was convenient. Next morning caught the shuttle to the port.

Greenock (Glasgow), Scotland

5 out of 5
They have a Tesco store right outside the port gates that has everything you could want or need. Convenient.

Belfast, Northern Ireland

5 out of 5
Did a hop on hop off bus tour off the ship as you leave the port gates.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
No problems.
