My biggest complaint is the lack of food options for those with food allergies. At one table at dinner, 3 of us had gluten/ lactose problems and just learned to not complain as no one listens. I can cook at home delicious food … why not professional chefs?

Food and Dining

The buffet is different than preCovid in that food is now pre dished in smaller servings, which is ok. You can take as many as you wish and we always eat too much anyway.
Big complaint—I have food allergies and there are never desserts I can eat. Staff offers to talk to chef; I have been through this before… no gluten, no dairy, no eggs. I make great desserts at home with no problem… I have been told it can’t be done on the ship. Just offer the flourless chocolate cake every dinner!!!
We ate one meal at the Crown Grill and it was wonderful!

We did trivia and watched some karaoke. E attended some , but most were not of interest to us. Wish there were history lectures.

Ship tip
Wish there were visible signs at each floor which side is port and which is starboard. It is difficult to tell inside the ship. We don’t use the elevators as we do stairs to try to stay active. I like that as we figure we are doing 40-80 flights of stairs every day.
Least favorite tour. We walked the Royal mile and the guide told us about every door , window, stone, and stair. I wish she would have let us have 45 minutes to walk around without a lecture and then meet up again. Holyrood palace tour was good.
Hi we are both also gluten and dairy free and are on the last day of the same cruise. We have struggled to find anything to eat apart from roast meat, veggies, curries, salads and jelly and fruit. The gluten free bread was toasted, rock hard and tasteless, and the cookies tasted like wallpaper paste! We went to supermarkets in each port and stocked up on bread and cakes so we could at least make sandwiches! The cabin steward and general staff were as helpful as possible. Entertainment was mostly good, typical cruise fare.
Oh, and it is easy to tell which side is port or starboard in the berthing areas, just look at the signs that indicate the room numbers. Port (4 letters) is the even room numbers, Starboard (9 letters) is the odd room numbers.
Wonder if the dietary issues were due to being in Europe? Princess has been very good at getting tasty meals in the MDR to those with dietary restrictions as we saw on other ships, most recently the Regal in the Caribbean.
