Review summary

We could have kept going we loved it that much! Our only snafu was paying the $26 pp (I think) thinking the luggage went all the way to the airport (our fault), but only went to the luggage hold on the pier. Luckily our flight was later and Princess was nice enough to put it on the next bus to the airport.

Loved this quaint little town and the Duck Boat ride with Larry & Cody was so much fun.

The Glacier Gardens are breathtaking and the Flower Towers are beautiful! I've never seen anything like them. We also were able to see salmon spawning at Mendenhall Glacier and a couple from New Zealand, on our excursion, were greeted by a mama bear and her cubs walking on the path. The park ranger said she was raised there also so not afraid of tourists. The videos were pretty scary and cool at the same time!

Skagway, Alaska

We enjoyed the White Pass train ride and if you have time enjoy the quaint, beautiful town before sailing out again.

Not enough time to see this beautiful city. I'm sure Butchart Gardens are beautiful in the daytime, but we made the mistake of booking this excursion and it was dark by the time we arrived.

There is an on-board service on some return ports, where you can give them your luggage and it arrives at your final destination. We did this from FL to Reno last cruise. It was $25 for Princess, plus normal baggage fees, if they apply. Sounds like you thought this was what you were getting? Or maybe not. I've never even heard of valet service just to the airport! So glad Princess came thru for you and got your luggage to the airport.

Hmmm, if you were flying American, Alaskan, Delta, or JetBlue, I thought Seattle offered a complimentary Port Valet service, where your bags will be taken directly to Sea-Tac post-cruise (you would be responsible for airline bag fees)... the $26 you paid sounds like per-person transportation to airport only. Should consider Uber/Lyft next time, as it would be cheaper and faster to SeaTac than the ship’s bus.
