Highly recommend going to Alaska! Princess offers the roundtrip from Seattle and it was awesome. I just expected more from the staff and food.

I saw many reviews that complained about the food and I thought perhaps their expectations were too high. I was not impressed with the food, limited choices and lacked the flare of a luxury cruise.

We were pleasantly surprised with the size of our cabin and balcony. The balconies on floor 9 and 10 are extended. I hightly recommend you get a balcony room when cruising to Alaska.

Ship tip

You can make reserverations for anytime dining and I highly recommend this options as you may have to wait about 20 to 30 minutes for a table.

We did not do an excursion at this port. There is plenty to see and do just walking around town.

I was disappointed at Mendhenhall Glacier becuase the one trail that we had time to walk was closed. We were not able to get close to the glacier. The whale quest was outstanding! We saw many whales and sea lions.
