Review summary

We would definitely cruise again aboard the Princess cruise lines. I would like to do a cruise to Mexico and also look into the European River Cruise.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Very well organized and efficient.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food was very good but I would like to have had more options for healthier choices in the dining rooms.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
They had movies by the pool but mostly geared to kids/family. The fitness club was always busy. We would have enjoyed an adult only pool/spa that was enforced with no kids.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
We saw a variety of comedy/music/game shows.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Super friendly and courteous.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The cabin had a nice setup with a queen bed that was very comfortable, small bar/desk area and a wonderful balcony. The bathroom and shower were very small but expected.

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington Did not visit port

We flew into and out of Seattle and did not have time to visit as we paid for transportation to and from the ship.

Ketchikan, Alaska

5 out of 5
The port was very clean and we had an excellent time on our excursion to the Rain Forest/crab feast.

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
The port was very clean and the people friendly. The whale watching/glacier excursion was fabulous.

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
We took an excursion to the Canadian border and did some site seeing. On the way back we had a salmon lunch in Liarsville that was excellent.

Victoria, British Columbia

3 out of 5
Our ship arrived latter than expected to Victoria and we hadn't planned an excursion because we had been to Victoria before and saw the Butchart Gardens. So last minute we booked a bus tour of the area and planned to have dinner in town but the tour was late getting back to the ship. There was only one restaurant at the port which turned out to be very good but it was 10pm. We were disappointed in the tour.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Once again very well organized and efficient.

My favorite ship class - the Princess Grand class. The Emerald took good care of me about a year ago. Next is the Crown. Glad the ship treated you good enough to want to return. Always a positive.

The Mexican Riviera end of March 2017 on Ruby Princess was wonderful and has inspired our Alaskan cruise for April 2018.

We will be in the Emerald in November, a few days after Thanksgiving, cruising the Mexican Riviera. We enjoy Princess very much...
