Emerald Princess Cruise Review to Europe - Mediterranean
Sail Date: June 17, 2008
Cabin Type: Inside
Traveled As: Family (older children)
Reviewed: 7 years ago
Review SummaryThe ship was beautiful. Embarkation and disembarkation were very well organized as were the many wonderful tours. The food and dining experiences were excellent for the most part. Evening entertainment was most enjoyable. Very talented entertainers and very tastefully done. Daytime entertainment and activies were limited and there was an overall lack of spirit. I understand that the Emerald is a new ship and perhaps there was inadequate "service excellence" training and there were days when the smiles and friendly greetings were absent.
Overall, I must say that this was indeed a trip of a lifetime which will never be forgotten. I will not hesitate to recommend it to my friends and family.
Ports of Call
Don't Miss: Tour of Luca!
Don't Miss: The bus tour of Eze
Don't Miss: Definitely the Amalfi coast!! The Pompeii ruins were also very interesting.
Pros: The land tours, food and dining, service fom state room service and some waiters and their assistants, night time entertainment.
Cons: Some opportunities for improvement would include: Customer service training - a smile & a greeting goes a long way! Communication amongst the various staffs regarding tours info & guidance. More flexibility & kinder treatment of customers by dining room management staff. The ship lacked spirit.
