It's Showtime! by DrHolly

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Disney Fantasy

It was a really good cruise. The shows made it worth the money. The food was average, the ports of call were great, the service was mediocre, the decor and Disney ambiance were great, and the cabin was large enough for four.

The Best Cruise Ever. by funtimecruiser

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Fantasy / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I chose this rating because this cruise line exceed my expectation. Since my family and I have been cruising it's the best we have experience. Yes it's a bit expensive but, it's worth the money. We have cruised with Royal & Carnival however, Disney is at the top of our list in the best cruise line category, crew members/dining room servers/ every last one of them on the ship was fabulous. Each night we get to dine in a different dining room, same table # also we get the same server each night as well. On the other cruise ship it's the same dining room for the 7 days.

Magical by FamilyCruisers

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Fantasy / Destination: Caribbean - Western

It had something for all. Best cruise line and cruise we had ever been on. Their attention to detail surpasses anyone else in the cruising industry. We are in the process of booking our next cruise on the same ship.

Disney Cruise Rocks by sillysully65

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Fantasy

The cruise was exciting and fun. It does get a little crowded during sea days but that is expected. If the sound of children drive you nuts this is not for you.

Our first Disney Cruise. Compared to other cruises there was better and not better depends what you like to do. I heard some things were still post covid limited. Pros- theming, staff, well kept ship, cabin, people and their excitement level magnet trades etc. Cons- additional cost, no casino,

Just ok by DanPel

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Fantasy

I have a 3 and 6 year old. Not worth the value to me. Everyone is different. Food was ok, service wasn’t that great, cabin was just ok, value was poor, I won’t return for that reason.

It's Disney! Enough said! by mrt1027

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Fantasy / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Be sure to pack water shoes. The ocean at Cozumel and Castaway Cay are full of shells and rocks and hurt if you are barefooted. The Royal Court Tea is a must for a little princesses. It is pricey, but it's worth it. The cost for a child is 210.00 but she will get lots of gifts. They do charge for adults (65.00) and all you get is tea and snacks, so I think that is way too much for the adults. I think one accompanying adult should be free. I was very impressed with the prices of the merchandise in the stores and the specialty shops. Most cruise lines overcharge for items bought on the ship, but Disney was very reasonable. Over all, the cruise was outstanding!

Just OK, and not worth the money by MrJeff

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Fantasy / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Previous to Disney Cruise Line, we sailed aboard Norwegian, Royal Caribbean, and Celebrity. The cost for Disney was at least double what the other cruise lines charge. With a daughter in mid-childhood, we thought she might have a really good time, which she did compared to the above cruise lines because the ship is geared for kids. However, my opinion is, as an adult, that I would rather take 2 of the above cruises for the same price as 1 Disney Cruise and see if I can coordinate with another family we know so our kids can play together on another ship.

As you will see below there were many issues; the ship left late, the itinerary was changed, and all shore excursions were cancelled, including on Disney's own island, Castaway Cay. Especially with embarkation, there was zero communication and no transparency to know what was going on.  Disney sends e-mails building excitement for the cruise but when an issue occurs, nothing; no e-mails, texts, calls, etc. When embarkation goes wrong, it sets passengers up with an unfavorable impression right away. Had we known these issues BEFORE we boarded, we simply would have rescheduled our cruise. But, we were never given the chance.

During the cruise, we re-booked the same cruise next year with the intent to give Disney the chance to make it up to us and get it right. If you re-book with Disney on board before you leave, they give you 10% off all cruises and give you $200 ship credit. The deposit is 100% refundable for about 8 months. I communicated my displeasure with our cruise to Disney both on board and with Disney Guest Satisfaction upon our return through our travel agent. Disney Guest Satisfaction basically admitted their issues precluded us from enjoying the full "Disney Experience", but to date, Disney has refused to right these wrongs by extending ANY goodwill gestures like all other cruise lines including a % or $ off of a next cruise, ship's credit, dining experience at a premium restaurant, free shore excursion, etc. Disney's arrogance is deeply troubling given they have a guest satisfaction department to begin with for issues like these. They should rename the Disney Guest Satisfaction Department the Disney Apology Department where they simply tell you how sorry they are and don't make anything right.

The ship is well designed, well taken care of, neat, and clean. There are many places to wash hands.

On the upper decks, there are separate adult areas, which is nice. At the kids pools, they play movies all day on giant screens but the pools are so crowded, there can be no swimming. I think Disney needs a 3rd pool on future ships. Our child enjoyed the Oceaneer Club activities for kids on 5th floor.

It's hard to imagine any scenario where we would sail with Disney again given their premium prices and mediocre adult experience, unless they extend some sort of goodwill gesture(s). It is difficult to justify booking a cruise knowing that if there are issues, Disney will not communicate well and probably will not right any wrongs? We met a number of other unhappy passengers for various other reasons, many of whom were experienced Disney Cruisers.

If you need to cross a Disney Cruise off the family's bucket list, hopefully your cruise will go exactly as planned and you end up having a great time.

Great cruise for the kids by Papa24

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Fantasy / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We have cruised many times but this was our first Disney cruise.  Excellent for kids.  The ship was beautiful and well maintained, the crew were very helpful and friendly.  Their patience with all the kids was impressive.  The food was fine, but the lunch selection could be a little more complete.  Our cabin was spacious and well appointed.  I do have one suggestion.  Instead of using the wipes for cleaning hands before dining, use the gel.  All other cruise lines have gone to the gel.  It works more effectively and there is no tissue to discard.  Other than that, just keep doing with you are as excellently as you do.  That is difficult enough.  Thanks for a great time with the family!!Happy

Great 50th wedding anniversary cruise with the family by schlaterd

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Disney Fantasy / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

There is plenty to do for both adults and kids of all ages. Dining experience is excellent. Food is good and service excellent. Rooms great and the 2 part bath is the best of any cruise we have taken. Shows and entertainment are Disney all the way.

Aft cabins did experience excessive vibration on one or 2 nights. No explanation.

Excellent cruise,! by Stgeorgecruises

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Fantasy / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Love disney cruise line, best service. The workers are all so personable. They made us feel like we were their only guests. They could of had more characters, the lines to meet them were very long. There is a ton of children on the ship so if you do not have kids you could get annoyed. The food is great, the activities on the shore were very pricey.
