Dream It by duswest

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Disney Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We love Disney and the extra touches they do to make your vacation wonderful. If you have kids do a Disney cruise at least once. You will fall in love in Disney! It's not for kids only!

Incredible by johnston11531

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Disney Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I was tentative booking a cruise at all, let alone Disney. My only regret is not being able to book this earlier for the kids. Other than a few hours of disembarking this truly was an amazing and memorable vacation. The staff were exceptional, from the time of check in until departure.

We've never experienced anything of the sort and can't wait to do it again. We met some really cool staff members that were unforgettable. Saw things and places that opened our eyes to a whole new world.

What a great family vacation.... by jagilmore71

Sail date: /
Ship: Disney Dream

What a great family vacation. We cruised Jan 19-22. It was the first time we took our boys on a cruise (10, 6 and 3) so we were worried about a long sailing. Now we wish we had longer on the ship. Our 10 year old absolutely loved the Oceaneer Club as well as our 6 year old. The room was fantastic (balcony room). Dining staff was incredible and we loved eating at a different restaurant each night. Private island was nice as well.

As a huge Disney fan,... by Floridian702

Sail date: /
Ship: Disney Dream

As a huge Disney fan, growing up in Anaheim, DCL has been a dream of mine. My past cruise experiences have been RCCL. Please forgive me, as I may have started with high very high expectations. Our boarding experience was less than desirable. Outside fighting frigid cold, we were on the ground level to drop off bags. We felt hustled to tip the gentleman who took the bags. We would have anyway as that is the proper thing to do. He went into a full explanation to make it known they are not in the tip pool. We felt very obligated and gave him a twenty after he said he could give us change when a couple of bucks didn’t appear to be enough. He directed us back to the parking garage to 3rd floor to access ship. Standing outside for another 45 minutes in very windy, cold air. Registering was rather swift and maybe too swift as not much was explained. We signed forms, given keys and kid band. No directive, no explanation, eta of room access...nothing. I’m in the hotel/hospitality industry and when we have a new guest we love to share with the the happenings of the resort and amenities. I will say the cast members were awesome! From our room attendant to food/beverage servers. The room was magnificent with the dual bathroom set up, bunk beds that appear as if out of no where in the evening. Great storage including under the bed for luggage! The beds slept beautifully. Oh and the shower! If I could just pack that up and talk it home with me! Water temp and pressure had me in there much longer than needed. Our first food and beverage experience was at Cabanas. Was good for a buffet with many options. Our first evening we splurged and went to Remy. Overall a great experience and highly recommend if you’re into very fine dining. The two chefs really created two exceptional experiences and recommend going with either the French or American set menu. Dinner the other two nights were good but not fantastic. This is the area where Disney can improve. Dishes were a hit or miss. Breakfast in your assigned restaurant the morning of departure absolutely sucked. Powered eggs, frozen pancakes and paper thin bacon. Although the coffee was so much better compared to the coffee at Cabanas. I couldn’t wait to get home for a real cup of Joe. I’m a huge Disney fan and will always be. I just wish my personal experience was a better one. Unfortunately the trip was more chaotic than relaxing.

Excellent Disney Cruise by mcrussdvc

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Disney Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We have done 5 Disney Cruises including this one and you pay more for Disney but you get the value back out of it with food and customer service, stage shows are the best in the industry, It is not characters everywhere if you want to meet a character you can if you don't you don't have to lines are not overly long for meet and greets and are more personal than a theme park. Staff is always smiling and on Officer Pin Trading night you meet so many crew members and they are just like you and I (human) very talkative about anything not all business.

First time to Cruise on Disney Dream by Happy2Bhere

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Disney Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We enjoyed our first Disney Cruise, seeing the kids LOVE it, made it even more enjoyable. I would most likely NOT take a Disney cruise without children. I would pick another cruise line in this case. Dinner at night is very loud! While food and service are great, it is not relaxing. :-) We were not surprised.

We sailed on the Dream... by TravelwithKeith

Sail date: /
Ship: Disney Dream

We sailed on the Dream over Halloween on the “Halloween on the high seas” themed cruise. Check in was a breeze, we arrived at the port earlier than anticipated so we did have to wait for our boarding group to be called. We stayed in a mid ship starboard side veranda cabin. It was incredibly clean and our room steward was fantastic! What really made our trip was our dining companions and the dining room staff. We didn’t use the main pools as at least once a day they were shut down due to “cleaning” (read: parents not taking their children on appropriate potty breaks). We did enjoy the smaller adult only pool, which was amazingly never crowded even on sea days. The cruise director and his staff were also amazing and made all of the activities very fun!

This was cruise number eight... by nygator

Sail date: /
Ship: Disney Dream

This was cruise number eight with Disney and it’s as amazing as usual. Never once did we feel like we had to tip extra as a previous reviewer stated. We did tip our servers extra but that is because they deserved it. They were one of the best teams we’ve ever had. Palo brunch was amazing as usual. Castaway was even more special since I was able to get a cabana. Now I’m unsure if I can ever go back without one. The only thing that was not as good as last year was the trick or treating event. Last year it was in the atrium which flowed much better. This year it was on deck 11 and 12. The crowds did not flow as well and the heat didn’t help anything.

We did this one as... by ppridemore

Sail date: /
Ship: Disney Dream

We did this one as our first real family vacation. We had a ton of fun! My 4 year old son loved the play area and wouldn’t leave Andy’s playroom. The staff was amazing and took the time to make our kids and family feel special. The character meet and greets were super cool everyone took the time to talk to the kids, listen, and make our kids feel special and not rushed through the cue. Well worth every penny spent!
