Disney Dream Come True by cruzj0280278

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This was our second time on a Disney cruise and it didn't disappoint. The staff was excellent, the food was great, entertainment for adults and kids was excellent, and the ship was super duper clean. Once you go on a Disney cruise, you'll never want to cruise any other way. I highly recommend anyone to experience a Disney cruise.

I have traveled on vacation for the  past 20 years and I have never had a outstanding trip like I experienced on the Disney Dream. We had the best travel in the world Meredith Jester and she gave us the greatest information so we could have a flawless time!!!!

Disney provides best multi-generational experiences by Cruiser389

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Disney Cruise line is a great family experience. The ships out of Port Canaveral are in a terminal owned  Disney.Check In is fast and the younger ones are entertained by many Disney characters .Our grandchildren were  happy to be there! From check in to check out all is handled by dedicated employees, whose goal is for the family to have an unforgettable experience.Unlike many other lines,on the last day you are served breakfast with choices from the menu(by your regular wait staff). After breakfast, there is no wait for a certain color to be called, you just exit the ship to the terminal! Our grandchildren already talking about the "next time".Our favorite memory is Castaway Cay which is like a movie set with palm trees, hammocks, and beautiful Caribbean beaches.

"Disney Dream" is aptly named because this trip was truly that! by mrdonwilson

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Disney Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Have been on many cruises, we were traveling with another couple neither of us brought children we only chose Disney because we waited too late to book and the other cruises on this date were full. We were hesitant to go on a Disney Cruise without children but we were so wrong. Conde Nast had it right when they named Disney the best cruiseline in the industry this boat had something for everyone. The food was on point the entertainment was Broadway quality and enjoyable for children and adults alike, the adult areas of the boat were splendid with venues for any taste from the sports bar to the champagne bar and everything in between...the adults only area of serenity bay at Castaway Cay was a paradise...relaxing beach great food (included) reasonable priced drinks.....many extras on Disney ships that are not included on other cruises such as included soda's, ice cream and so much more. Clean! Clean! Clean! Each public restroom seemed to be staffed 24/7 every aspect of the ship is kept in tip-top shape...We recommend this ship to anyone!

It was our first cruise and we were very happy with the organization of Disney cruise. Our son was exciting to get on board and all of the services were very good. We appreciate that we spent a wonderful Thanksgiving on board with Cruise crew. We will consider to take the cruise again for sure.

Disney Rocks, United Cruises Doesn't by rkluttz

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Disney Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Disney gets an A+ as always. We went with our granddaughter twice before and this time was just the two of us for 30th anniversary. Dinner at Remy was the best we've ever had.

But this review is more about United Cruises. The two previous cruises we booked directly with Disney and there were absolutely not hitches at all. I booked on line, everything was crystal clear, and I made no follow up calls. United was hiccup after hiccup. One of the cool things about Disney at MCO (Orlando) is that they offer ground transportation and baggage handling. For a modest fee, you check your bags at home airport, go straight from the plane to the Disney bus, get on the ship, and your bags show up at your stateroom. When I booked at United, nothing was said  about  this service. I called Disney later and they said the ground transport option has to be booked through our agent (United). Back to United, the agent said yes, that's correct, I can book it for you. So why didn't you make that clear when I booked in the first place? That's our policy. Are you kidding me?

With that snafu fixed, I wait for the mail. And wait. And wait. Previously, we received a package of information with everything documented (including our luggage tags!) Finally tired of waiting, I call Disney. Yes indeed, we mailed that package three weeks ago! It didn't arrive? Let me check your address. Ah! Your agent (United) is supposed to provide shipping information for the package. If  they don't  we ship it to them and they forward it to you.

Back to United. Where's my package? Uh, you think we have it? Yes! Uh, we'll check and get back to you. Two days later-- Uh, sir, yes we have the package. We'll forward it to you and we won't even charge you for it! So why didn't you give Disney our shipping address in the first place? Uh, I don't know. And why didn't you forward the package immediately when you got it? Uh, I don't know.

Bottom line, if you want to save a little money, go ahead and book with United Cruises. But caveat emptor. Be prepared for hassles and follow up with everything!

Disney cruise 1 -- 0 phone calls, 0 stress

Disney cruise 2 --- 0 phone calls, 0 stress

Disney through United -- > 12 phone calls, moderate stress

Excellent experience on Disney dream by penguin213

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The cruise was amazing and wonderfully geared for all age groups.  The staff is amazing and are always smiling. There are so many activities going on throughout the day and never felt that the activities were overcrowded.  The tiny downfall was the fact that you have to sign up for tickets to meet certain princesses and to do certain crafts.  These things were unknowned to new Disney cruisers and if you don't do it Within the first couple of hours getting in the ship, there will be no space left.

It was ok by kovacsmat

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Disney Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I can only give 3 stars because the supper's food was lukewarm all the time.  Other than that, the cruise was great, the ship was beautiful, customer service was great, food tasted pretty good, and the spa was fantastic.  But the food was either too salty or lukewarm and I like my food almost boiling hot.

It was first class… only the weather was an issue by SSSL

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I think that the Disney Dream ship, is a dream. So festive and beautiful and full of excitement and joy! We loved it.

The only issue we had was that there was a storm at one of our ports. Obviously this is not the fault of Disney's, but it meant that we only got to one of our 2 ports. I just wished that perhaps there could have been a back up plan if one port is not accessible. That we could go to a different port. Even though the ship is lovely, we were also looking forward to our excursions which we were not able to take.

I still say the cruise was 1st class! The employees were all wonderful! And the food was also 1st class(and I'm very picky). Thanks Disney Dream!

Disney catered to our every need. The Disney Dream is a beautiful ship, everything I could imagine was taken care off and thoughtfully planned. As a result me and my daughter grew closer together.

It was a dream! by jmt1147

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

First time on Disney cruise-- definitely won't be the last! Booking through was easy, organized and very detailed. Thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience- room was terrific -- especially the balcony; lots of fun activities for my 3 yr old as well as me and my husband; dining experience was very good.

Only recommendation would be for the character greetings- It  should be for kids only or adults with children. Too many grown-ups taking up the lines and too much time with characters. Have fidgety children not wanting to wait so long in line to meet Mickey or Minnie.

I have been on 4 other cruises on other cruise lines and I must admit that Disney does it better than the others. From embarkation to debarkation the entire 3 days were great.

WOW by ctomczik

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Disney Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I can not say enough about how great our Disney Cruise played out. More than anyone in our family expected. I recommend this trip to one and all. The Palo dinner was over the top great. we could have stayed two days at Cast away. I love my Disney people...characters were everywhere. The cast members were so wonderful, they could not do enough for our family. the only sad event was walking down the gang plank to say goodbye
