Awesome trip with our granddaughter. by Cruiser734

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Disney Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Our first cruise on Disney was a very wonderful experience. My wife and I took our 4 year old granddaughter on her first cruise. She had a great time.

The ship and staff are clean, friendly and helpful.  A special shout out to our dinner servers Safet and Devner. They were awesome.

We were able to use the website to purchase our cruise with no issues. We were even able to add an additional passenger a month before our trip and the process was seamless.

Surprised my 10 year old with a Disney Dream cruise by MissScorpio

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I have no complaints about Disney Dream. The reason for 4 stars is only because we couldn't enjoy Castaway Cay because of the bad weather. However, there were still lots of things to enjoy on the ship.

Wonderful !!! by kallielynn88

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This was our first cruise ever and we were glad it was with Disney ! Everything was magical. The entire experience was perfect. I can't say enough about the way everything was so well taken care of, so clean and the entire crew was so nice. The way they have everything timed out and running like a very well oiled machine.

The food was great and very abundant. Palo was a dining experience We will always be glad we did. Our stateroom was very cozy, very clean and I loved the split bathroom.  The only thing that I wish was different was that it was longer. It went so fast, 3 nights isn't enough. Just when you feel settled in and you know how to get around the ship it's over. I would have liked a day at sea, because there wasn't enough time to do it all. I loved being able to pay off the cruise with . It was the only reason we were able to afford it.

Best Cruise, Ever! by DestinyDreamers

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Disney Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Big SmileHappyLet me start by saying how clean the ship was! Not a thing out of place, ever! The service is outstanding, ship is action packed 24/7 with something to do and the food is top notch. We were a group of 43 people with kids from 16-18months, not one complaint the entire trip! We also had an adult with severe food allergies who was a bit nervous about the trip, Disney accommodated him at every meal with out one screwup.

first time Disney Cruiser by bnoel37

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Took my kids on this cruise just for Disney experience and boy did they love it! I appreciate the cleanliness of the ship and how they have a stewardess in each public restroom to keep it clean. Love the fact we were given hand sanitizer prior to dinner entry. We had fun. Definitely will do another one

Disney meets expectations by Bstewart2050

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We enjoyed our trip. The ship was beautiful. The online navigator app helped us keep track of the schedule. We have never been to Disney or on a cruise so it was a unique experience. The staff aboard were helpful and nice. 4 nights was not enough time for us to fully enjoy all the ship had to offer. The evening shows were amazing. We will definitely be considering booking another cruise.Love

Amazing Disney Cruise by Cruiser214

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This was our second time going on the Disney Dream for the 4 night Bahamas cruise.  It was as great as the last time!  We have 2 girls (8 & 2) and our whole family loved it!  From the nursery for under 3 to the Children areas - it's great to have places that the kids LOVE going to and that parents can trust that they will be taken care of and be safe.  Being able to meet the Disney Characters just make the cruise that much more special.  Castaway Cay is so amazing - it's hard to choose another Disney Cruise - because we love the Castaway Cay day.  The food is outstanding, but, really, it's the service that makes the trip.  Every person - whether it is our servers, the host, or the others that work on the ship - are extremely helpful, always with a smiling face, making the trip so much fun.  The entertainment was astounding - whether it was the main shows, the game shows, pirate's night or the different activities around the ship - there was always something to do and, more importantly, always something that you wanted to do.

our Dream Cruise with no kids by kitcat

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Disney Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This was our first time on the Dream, we have now been on all 4 of Disney's ships, this trip was without our kids. There is just no other cruise line that can compare, when you see the Disney ship up next to another liner the Disney ship looks so clean, like a classic cruise liner, and just much more beautiful than the others. The crew is always cleaning, always painting and varnishing, Yes that's what I said Varnishing, there is so much beautiful wood trim on the Disney ships. There is so much for all ages to do. Don't ever fear that adults can't go with out kids, we just did and had an amazing time. I can't wait to go again next year. Once you go Disney you will never go back!!

Fun Time for the Whole Family by Cruiser792

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Fun vacation with lots of activities did a great job of wearing the kids out.  Disney went above and beyond in taking care of my daughter who broke her leg two days before the cruise, providing a wheel chair, great seating at the shows, and just being kinds.

Above and Beyond Expectations! by triciawatson71

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Disney Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We had a fabulous time!  Disney really knows how to treat their passengers.  There was never a dull moment.  Even when the weather was bad, the Captain rerouted the ship so that we could go to the Disney Island the next day, when the weather was better.  Food was excellent, service was exceptional, entertainment was amazing, and spa was awesome!  We didn't have any kids with us and it was just grand.  There is plenty to do for adults and a whole section of the boat just for adults.

Happy

Truly A Dream by pedidocniv

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Disney Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

From the moment we pulled into the port and saw the Disney Dream, we were impressed. It only got better. The embarkation process was totally effortless. People were at our side guiding us all the way. With the pre-board time assigned we we on the ship within 25 minutes after arriving.

The pre-sail party was fun, characters everywhere, great food and when we went to our room....WOW.... It was very large. So much room and very well equipped.

The food was excellent everywhere. The shows and movies 1st class all the way. Everyone was so kind, truly interested in our well being and happiness.

We we simply have nothing but the best things to say....it was DISNEY ALL THE WAY!

It was such a fantastic vacation for kids and adults. It was an overstaffed boat, which meant that no needs went unmet. The food was outstanding, the cabin rooms were spacious and clean, the energy was awesome- best family trip we ever took- looking forward to taking another one soon!

We had a great time but I think you should consider going some other place than Nassau. It is very dirty and scary. I just stayed on the ship. Very disappointed.

Great Cruise, BUT! by bobbs0823

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This is the second time we have been on the boat and it was still very clean and had very friendly staff onboard.  My displeasure with this cruise is that everything now seems to be catered to young boys and not the young girls.  The kids club had many boy related activities and very few girls activities. For the most part, if you didn't like Star Wars, there was nothing to do.

Also, my girls only got to see one princess on the entire ship.  Our last cruise had most all the princesses available for greeting.

Didn't meet my expectations by Cruiser827

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The Disney Dream is overrated. This was my first Disney Cruise and I had very high expectations since it IS a Disney Cruise. Disney usually never lacks in quality and entertainment in my opinion, but on this ship, they did.

3  out of the 4 nights onboard at dinner, I had to ask the server for my drink after food had already been served; Not great service. My table sat with empty plates until the next course came to the table every night. The restaurant staff in the main dining areas were not attentive and didn't seem to be as well trained as other cruise lines.

The stateroom layout is very nice.  I like the divided bathroom. Having a curtain to divide the bed from the couch/sitting area is nice to have available. The balcony is bigger than on some ships I have been on, which is nice.  I was shocked at the non-existent night-life. Around 11pm or so, I was wondering where everyone was at?  The ship was almost like a ghost town.

The Aquaduck was fun and the most fun of the ship for me, as an adult, other than sitting on my balcony, visiting with family and seeing the shows from Disney. Castaway Cay is great and the best cruise line island I have been to. Great food is offered on Castaway Cay, great snorkeling to look for Disney characters in the water.

I did NOT like on debarkation how passengers are not given a choice where to eat.  The place where passengers ate on the last night of the cruise is where you will eat breakfast before leaving the ship. Horrible idea to me. I didn't care much for the food in the restaurant nor the lack of good service that you pay for in a cruise so why would I want to be forced to go back to the same restaurant that I didn't care for? No buffet breakfast  where you have more options. Also, if you eat a early dinner, you will have an early breakfast on debarkation day, 6:45 am. and be off the ship by 9am.  The server staff follows you each night from restaurant to restaurant, so if you had bad service the first night at dinner, you will each night following.  You have to take your carry-on or any other items you have with you that the ships crew are not taking off for you the night before, to the restaurant. Bad idea to me. We usually eat breakfast, go back to the stateroom, for 30 minutes or so until we have to debark; not so on Disney. I am all about My Time Dining as on other cruise lines.

The magician onboard was a 3 out of 10.  Not sure where a  premium cruise line got there talent from.

I did see Star Wars onboard!  Nice theater, but the chairs were not so comfortable.

I would not recommend the Disney Dream. The Disney cruise line is overrated, OVERPRICED for sure, considering there was nothing special about the actual cruise line, other than the name. That is what passenger are paying for, the name.

Stateroom Host by margaretmatava1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Disney Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

First time on a Disney cruise and I was very pleased for the most part.  Food, entertainment, Castaway Cay and overall cleanliness of the ship was great!  I was somewhat disappointed in the stateroom host service we received - or should I say - didn't receive!  The only time we saw our host was when he saw us struggling to bring our bags into our stateroom upon arrival.  We never saw him again!  Trash was never emptied, our ice bucket had water in it for the duration of the cruise and the bed was made with a visibly torn sheet.  This certainly wasn't the level of service that Disney represents that puts them above and beyond other cruise lines.  When I complained, I received an apology and a $40 credit for photos that were already printed.  Talking with others who had been on cruises, this definitely wasn't their experience with their stateroom host and I didn't feel like Disney really cared when we spoke to Guest Services about this.
