Don't need to bring too many clothes, the ship provides free laundry machines.

pick an older ship

Because the ship is so large, get a stateroom midship. Our room was midship very close to the stairs and elevators. It was perfect.

Book at least a mini suite if you are claustrophobic. Can consider skipping the specialty restaurants as the main dining food was awesome. But do take the Chef’s Table if you have a chance.

Great ship. Lots of bars to hang out. Excellent staff and loved the gourmet food.

Be prepared for long lines, long waits at the elevators and most of the hostesses at the dining venues were snobby. They acted like we should not be expecting seating.
bellanena74
Watch a few youtube videos about the ship to get tips and tricks to enjoy every moment of your trip.

Be prepared to wait for elevators. Over-all wonderful cruise.

Be prepared to have patience. There were more people on that ship than in the town we live in. It seemed very crowded. Don't do things last minute, and be patient and polite!

DO NOT EXPECT TO FIND BARGAINS AND BUY SOUVENIRS ON THIS SHIP. THEY EVEN DID NOT HAVE ANY BAGS TO PUT IN YOUR PURCHASES.

Get to Green Lane, book all dining in advance, go on excursions, talk to your servers- they WORK so hard.

We've cruises on multiple cruise lines, including Princess. This was our first time on Discovery Princess, and we hadn't done any of this class of ship before. It was extremely difficult for us to find our way around, and there never seemed to be enough elevators!

Relax enjoy
bobkimmerly
Long elevator lines. We often took stairs.

Be patient with the elevators.

Definitely go to the Sanctuary, great to relax. Be free to change your plans, you are on vacation.
