Because the ship is so large, get a stateroom midship. Our room was midship very close to the stairs and elevators. It was perfect.

Book at least a mini suite if you are claustrophobic. Can consider skipping the specialty restaurants as the main dining food was awesome. But do take the Chef’s Table if you have a chance.

Be prepared for long lines, long waits at the elevators and most of the hostesses at the dining venues were snobby. They acted like we should not be expecting seating.

Be prepared to have patience. There were more people on that ship than in the town we live in. It seemed very crowded. Don't do things last minute, and be patient and polite!

DO NOT EXPECT TO FIND BARGAINS AND BUY SOUVENIRS ON THIS SHIP. THEY EVEN DID NOT HAVE ANY BAGS TO PUT IN YOUR PURCHASES.

Get to Green Lane, book all dining in advance, go on excursions, talk to your servers- they WORK so hard.

We've cruises on multiple cruise lines, including Princess. This was our first time on Discovery Princess, and we hadn't done any of this class of ship before. It was extremely difficult for us to find our way around, and there never seemed to be enough elevators!
