Review summary

I was very disappointed, from the misinformation given by the travel agent, the poorly informed staff onboard. the poorly planned elevator service, boring activities. I would recommend no one book excursions with the cruise line. They are overpriced and readily available at every port. I would go so far as to say the best thing about Princess was that it was a newer ship that was well appointed.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Italian Trattoria was disappointing. Both service and food were not what we expected.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Shows, games, trivia, etc. not exciting, difficult to move around the ship because of poor elevators, and often activities overlapped on the schedule. Most music was good. Especially enjoyed Jan Jan Reposo. Too many long lines. I really expected Princess to be better than some of the cruise lines I have traveled with. Lobby games were ridiculous.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Guitar player/singer Jan Jan Reposo was fabulous. Stage performances were out standing.

Children's Programs

No kids

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Steward was outstanding in every way. Room service was slow. Bar service was painfully slow. Ships staff were very poorly informed about where things were located on the ship. We were given misinformation multiple times and when we went to guest services they flat out did not know thw answer to our questions.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Ship was opulent. Very beautiful. Elevators were a constant problem.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Beds and linens were wonderful. Nice size stateroom, good layout. We appreciated the luggage storage across from the bathroom. Balcony was lovely. No complaints. Steward could not have been more helpful or attentive.

Ship tip

Be prepared for long lines, long waits at the elevators and most of the hostesses at the dining venues were snobby. They acted like we should not be expecting seating.

CRUISE ENDICOTT ARM & DAWES GLACIER

1 out of 5
saw no wildlife at all. Not even a fly. That was disappointing. The travel agent booked our excursions which either got cancelled or the vendor on shore could not be located. Glacier was small and not remarkable. I think the hype is overblown. Could have cruised to anywhere and seen the same.... Shopping was good in the ports but not onboard. Onboard was way overpriced, and quality just was'nt there.

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

Pricey. Had to stumble upon the Island market for shopping. Rest of the city was clean but required lots and lots of walking. Cabs were not easy to find.

Disembarkation

Locating luggage was a miserable experience. Mine was lost for 1 and 1/2 hours while people bumped arounf me all looking for their bags. I have cruised on other cruise lines, all of which handled baggage at the end of the cruise better. It felt as though everything shut down when we reached port at 4AM.
