Truly a memorable cruise for our family and great views of Alaska! Enjoyed every bit - dining, entertainment, access to ports, shore excursions and lot of fun things to do on the cruise. Discovery Princess was a great ship with a wonderful layout and design and high tech! Customer service from waiters and managers was truly amazing! No complaints about the cruise. Would love to check out another destination on this ship. It was well worth our balcony stateroom and 7-day cruise! Best of all 4 cruises we took so far. Princess is classy with less crowds and well organized and managed!

Food and Dining

We had a special order for Indian food for dinners and our manager, Marino Factor paid extra attention to make sure we were served all the items to our liking including chopped red onions, jalapenos and all the sides. He ranks on top of our list to make our dining experience so pleasurable. The Indian Chief Chef, Jason Diaz checked in with us in person a few times taking time out of his busy schedule to make sure our needs were met. International Buffet at Market place had a ton of cuisines and choices including healthy and vegan options. Three of us in our family are vegetarian and we had plenty of great options for breakfast, lunch, and snacks. For formal dining too, we got excellent Indian food. All waiters who attended to us were cheerful and connected with us specially. Dennis Nava was exceptional as a waiter and very friendly and humorous and made us laugh. Sunjib was also super nice and got us special desserts of the day and paid special attention to our needs. Zimmic was also so friendly and appreciated our cultural needs and attended to them. Jennifer Bolledo who attended to us on the last night was extra attentive to our needs and gave us water without ice without any wait and served us with a smile and patience. Dennis Laqui also our waiter on last day was culturally sensitive to our needs and managed the needs of three vegetarians and one non-vegetarian in our family and suggested the best desserts for the day. Franco Banas, Jarom Agliones, and Hadi Fahri were also hospitable and provided a great dining experience as they were patient with our choice of salads and desserts from the Formal Dining menu and Mains from both the formal dining menu at Ketchikan and special order for the Indian vegetarian and non-vegetarian food.
Onboard Activities

My son used the fitness center daily and my daughter and husband couple of times. They felt the fitness centers were very well equipped for a cruise and had a variety of fitness tools.
Entertainment

The line dance and Zumba dance classes by Director, Cole were so fun. The piano and guitar musicians were awesome and performed some popular ones. The production show was exciting and culinary show hillarious with Carlos, Director of restaurant operations and Exec Chef. We also enjoyed the performance by the Irish singers.
Service and Staff

I mentioned waiters already in the dining experience. Our room steward, Wilfredo cleaned our room as many as five times a day and kept it spic and span. All ship personnel were very helpful and showed us the way to events when we were a little lost.

We loved Discovery Princess. The Piazza area is so classy and lovely! Enjoyed the cozy sit out areas around the bars including Crown Grille, Gigi's Pizza, and Princess Live! The Princess theater and Vista Lounge were designed well for the shows and Bingo. Overall, loved the design and layout! Staff were frequently cleaning the staircase and kept it shiny and spic and span.
Cabin / Stateroom

We stayed in the balcony cabin and the design was great and optimized the space very well. The closet space and locker were perfect and plenty of hangers were there. The cabin was very clean and spotless. The balcony was so perfect for the Glacier Bay viewing.
Ship tip
To take this awesome cruise to Alaska and see the Magnanimous Glacier Bay, only advice probably travel in Aug for better weather at Ketchikan.
Juneau port was beautiful and provided easy access to the city. We took the Tram on the ropeway and it was a great view at 1000 feet. We also went to the Mendenhall Glacier and Nugget falls. Both were amazing views and experience. We got 16,000 steps that day.
Skagway was a unique experience to use the small boat from the cruise to get to the city. It was very well organized by Princess and fast. We took the bus tour the White summit and enjoyed the beauty of the blue skies, multiple waterfalls, and even watched the train. The tormented valley and Gold Rush Cemetry were interesting. Got great pics! Weather was great!
Didn't go to the port but the Captain did an outstanding job of showing us the John Hopkins and Marjorie Glaciers with the 360 degree views. Truly memorable views of the Glaciers!
This cruise was super organized with disembarkation including arranging for free port valet for our luggage, organized groups to disembark and made announcements to prepare the group. The luggage was placed in rows ordered in a serial order so was easy to spot ours. Never imagined it would be so easy and quick.
