We have been on 3 princess cruises, a royal carribean, and carnival. I have always put Princess on top of them all as being the best cruise line, until this one. I found it to be the same. I was disappointed in how the staff’s English needed improving. We could not understand them. The room was too small. Some of the wait staff was not friendly and some areas I felt there was not enough wait staff. I loved how everything was made so easy with the medallions. It made everything so personable.

Food and Dining

Enjoyed the food in the dining room and specialty restaurants. Buffet was just that, typical cruise buffet. Not good but not terrible.

Service and Staff

Waiters were friendly but not enough in the market dining, KYKY was great, guest services has a lot to be desired. Not helpful with trying to secure reservations and not as friendly. Their English was broken and not fluent. English in most services needed to improve.

Room was smaller than expected. If I had known it was that small I would’ve gotten a larger room. Being on Princess before I expected balcony deluxe to be larger. We were cramped. KYKY always kept it very clean and neat.
Ship tip
Hire fluent English speaking staff. Have the specialty dining more available with less charge or no charge. It was a nice change from the scheduled dining.
We enjoyed the excursion just hated it wore on us a couple of days afterwards because we had to get up so early to attend. We were exhausted afterwards.
Typical tourist port - underground mine exploration was rushed and not good, a waste of time but people working there were very friendly and helpful. helicopter to glacier was good
Well….you went to Victoria due to the Jones act. Cruises cannot opt out of this. All major cruise lines have charges for specialty dining. Can’t see that changing. Thankfully you saw beautiful places. How fortunate you have the means to travel.
