Review summary

The cruise was full to capacity, and it did feel full. All-in-all, the scenery and staff was amazing, and we enjoyed our cruise.

Embarkation

Busy port that day. I had taken my COVID test but had not received my test results yet, and it wasn't until I got to the end of the line that I learned I had to walk a country mile to get tested. When we finished that process, everyone was already on the boat. Signs did read to have your results ready, but a sign saying where to go if you have not yet tested or if you don't yet have your results and where to go would have been great.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Overall, great dining rooms, and buffet. I did not use the specialty restaurant. Food and drinks were good. I miss the self-serve ice-cream. I wish there a small part of the buffet that had food available 24-7.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
I didn't do a whole lot of activities. My kids did and they enjoyed every one of them. I really enjoyed the guy who was the face of activities. He was funny, personable, and just a joy to listen to every morning when I turned on my tv. My boys enjoyed the dancing instructions and Bingo. I was looking forward to some kareoke, but with single locations and the frequency in which it was done, it was always so packed, standing room only, that I was never able to participate.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Shows were great. I loved the magician and the comedian the most. The musicians were great to listen to. Ioved listening to the piano player/singer at the crooners bar as well.

Children's Programs

my kids are in their 20's

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Service was WONDERFUL! The staff is all so kind and gracious. I witnessed some people being complete jerks to the staff, and the staff always responded with kindness. My housecleaning guy Javier was great. We enjoyed hanging out at the bar with Elvis on the top deck and the bartenders at the crooners bar. The last day my mom couldn't remember where she put her bag, and the manager on staff in the buffet looked, and asked other employees to look at well. We did find the bag. The staff was so grateful that she found her bag. My vacation was in essence, to get a break from mean people. In a world of bitterness, I was inspired and refreshed by the human kindness of all your staff.

Ship Quality

very clean. I like the design. I was envisioning walking in and seeing the center go all the way to the top, but it was still very nice, clean, and well designed.

Cabin / Stateroom

great, great, great.

Ship tip

Be patient when you're in line. It will feel like its taking a while, but once on board, your vacation starts.

Ketchikan, Alaska

My favorite port this time around. Weather was great. Love the vibe. Went to the loggers jambaree which was probably the most fun I've every had at a show.

CRUISE ENDICOTT ARM & DAWES GLACIER

way too early. When I did get up, the sun was so glaring.

Juneau, Alaska

Went to the glacier for a hike. There were way too many people there. But, a beautiful day nonetheless. Walked around town a little.

Skagway, Alaska

Love Skagway. I'd love to move there. A lot of boats in that day. Hard to find a place to eat. The man who runs the trailer park yelled at my boys (in their 20's) for walking too close to the park where his campers are paying to camp. My boys appologized, and he continued until they were out of site. My son's girlfriend who is so sweet and never gets yelled at was shooken up the whole evening. But, beautiful town, beautiful weather.

Victoria, British Columbia Did not visit port

just felt like staying on the boat.

Disembarkation

Horrible. We payed extra to be bussed to the airport. We provided the time of the flight which determined what color group we were when we got off the boat. When we got off, we stood in line for a long time, and eventually learned that we would miss our flight if we staye in the line. So, we flagged down a taxi dropping off people for the next cruise and had to pay cash for him to take us to the airport, since it had to be off the books. Luckily we had cash and luckly we made our flight with only 20 minutes to spare. It would be nice if there were a sign in the bus line letting people know the time frame it is taking to get onto the bus, so they can make other emergency plans if needed.
