LOS PAISAJES Y LAS EXPERIENCIAS SON UNICAS EN ALASKA. LA ATENCION EXCELENTE, LA COMIDA ES MUY BUENA EN LOS RESTAURANTES PERO LA DEL BUFFET NO ME GUSTO TANTO. LA MINI SUITE ES MUY COMODA. MEJORARIA EL SISTEMA DE AUDIO EN LOS BALCONES.

This is a nice ship. It is well maintained and the food was very good. There was a naturalist on board that added a lot to the experience

Great service but would skip Glacier Bay by CraigW2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Diamond Princess / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

The ship and staff were first rate. But Glacier Bay was a disappointment. A full day and just four glaciers, two of them unimpressive, one five miles away (Johns Hopkins) and one with some calving. College Fjord was MUCH better, including Prince Wm Sound. Would recommend the Carnival cruise and trade Glacier Bay for Sitka.

Not as good as expected by BrittanaH

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Diamond Princess / Destination: South Pacific - Australia

The ship is wonderfully maintained. As it was my boyfriend's first cruise, he was very impressed by its size and the number of amenities it offered: 4 pools, 10 spas, 6 restaurants, casino and endless bars. However, as it was my 9th cruise, I was less impressed. Yes the service was amazing, but it is on every cruise--some even more than this one. Our room steward knew us by name anytime he saw us around the ship. The itinerary was okay. Keep in mind that the Fjords day is an at sea day only. So you have 3 at sea days in a row, which can lead to a bit of cabin fever, even on such a large ship. If you're going on your first cruise, like my boyfriend, and are above the age of 35 (unlike us) this would be a good destination/ship.

It was OK, not the best cruise line by LarsonK

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Diamond Princess / Destination: South Pacific - Australia

The ship was nice. The activities on the many sea days was not very exciting and the food in the dining room was not impressive. Over all the experience was bland. The ports were great but I was not overly impressed with Princess as a whole.

A disappointing cruise by JoY

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Diamond Princess / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

Notice of Nagasaki port cancellation was sent a month before sailing without any reason. No refund or booking cancellation was allowed. No adjustment was made to the total charge. Disorganized in handling passengers passport. Ship held all passports and issued copies which cannot be used for any money exchange on shore. Overall service was poor.

The boat is really beautiful and its clean and of course the wonderful staff that really took care of our needs. Most of all is the excellent menus and menu selections in the traditional dining that we picked - Vivaldi

we really enjoyed every thing about this ship except the food. It was OK but not as good as we were hoping for. Also the gym was way to small.

A bueatiful cruise by TakekoS

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Diamond Princess / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

The cruise was excellent over all. I liked well organized services, the foods, and the clean cabin/public areas. What I'd like to recommend you is to hire some North American crew for Alaska crueses, as British or Phillipino accents are hard to understand for North American passengers. Another thing I recommend is to call at Sitka, which must make your Alaska cuises 100% perfect.

My worst ever cruise! by ScottS10

I would discourage anyone from using Princess cruiseline. The ship was adequate but not up to the standards of other cruiselines.

A fabulous family adventure by Jennyc11

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Diamond Princess / Destination: Hawaii

What a great trip! We so enjoyed our time together as a family. It was full of great food, lots of activities, tons of pool time, and hours and hours of just "hanging out" with the family! Both my husband and I work full time, and it was so great to be away from everything, even cell phone service. The kids hung with us most of the time, except for our 17 year old - who found a great group of friends on day one, and was hard to find after that! We mostly hung around the terrace and kid pool at the aft of the ship, and enjoyed the peace and quiet there. Hawaii was great - as always! We rented a car three days out of the five, as I used to live in the islands, and knew my way around. Would highly recommend the Molokini trip (Maui), where we went SNUBA diving, and that was awesome! Great staff and good fun, it was a memorable trip. We took the afternoon tour, which was MUCH less crowded than the morning tour - don't know if that is normal, but it was great for us, TONS of personal service, time and space! We loved the sea days, totally relaxed, and doing whatever you chose. The only downside to me was that the sea days, to and from Hawaii were very cool, gray and not enjoyable outdoors. This was a bummer. Coming from Alaska, we were really looking forward to a TON of great, warm and sunny days. Hawaii was sunny, Ensenada was sunny, and that was it. I didn't know it would be like that. I may have chosen a different cruise if I had known. My best advice: lay everything out on your bed that you WANT to take, when you are packing - try to get it down to the MINIMUM on which you think you can survive for the duration of your trip - then.... take HALF of what you've laid out and DOUBLE your money! I always take too much! You can (and will) buy things that you like, and you tend to wear your favorites, don't burden your trip with TONS of stuff! Have fun, enjoy, and take the line dancing class, I wish I had done that....

Wedding Cruise by Maryl1111

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Diamond Princess / Destination: U.S. - Pacific, Northwest

I was invited to participate in my son's wedding aboard the Diamond Princess. The wedding and reception was wonderful. The wedding coordinators did a great job. The only problem the guests had was communicatting with the servers. Kudos to the Wedding co ordinators. I have sailed on Princess line many times and had very good and very bad times. This time was good with the exception of the food which I found was not up to their usual high standards. In all the service ship wide was just below average but I know that this was just a one time thing on a short cruise. This would not stop me from sailing again with Princess.

best cruise we've taken by JoelK

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Diamond Princess / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

the ship was very clean as was our room. on other cruises, the crew staff looked tired and disheveled but they were very happy and very well dressed at all times of the day and night. the crew through out the ship were so nice and helped with true concern and never looked bothered by anything we asked for.

Alaskan Cruise on Diamond Princess by CandeeM

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Diamond Princess / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

I would not recommend the Diamond Princess, or any other Princess ships. There could have been more activities planned for "at sea days, or scenic cruising days", instead the highlights of the cruise days were, "ping pong tournament, card games, and 1 bingo game". The most awful experience was disembarkation. Sure they had "on-board check-in program for qualified guests, but for me personally, my cruise came with pre and post cruise transfers. I had rented a car in Vancouver. Princess cruiseline staff said I would be able to disembark the ship without problem. Came to find out on the day of disembarkation I would have to go with the tour bus to the airport, Claim my luggages, and then I could rent a car. if only princess cruiseline staff were more knowledgeable, this problem would have been prevented. Overall, I am very disappointed in this ship.

Good memories by SherryB3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Diamond Princess / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

The ship was a wonder - a huge complete floating resort! The staff was friendly and helpful and the way they managed so many people was impressive - so organized. We didn't ever feel crowded. The use of of the Cruise Card made everything so easy. We came home rested and relaxed. Thank you Princess.
