7 Night Voyage Of The Glaciers Northbound (Vancouver To Whittier)
Sail Date: June 20, 2009
Ship: Diamond Princess
Cabin Type: Balcony
Traveled As: Family (older children)

The ship and staff were first rate. But Glacier Bay was a disappointment. A full day and just four glaciers, two of them unimpressive, one five miles away (Johns Hopkins) and one with some calving. College Fjord was MUCH better, including Prince Wm Sound. Would recommend the Carnival cruise and trade Glacier Bay for Sitka.

Cute buildings, Mendenhall Glacier.

Not that much to do here. A few old stores on Creek Street don't take a lot of time.

Cute buildings. Rent a car and drive up the highway to Carcross. More time effective and much less expensive than the train. Avis or Sourdough Rentals.
Don't Miss: Mountains in and around town.

Pros: The level of service was outstanding

Cons: Not much entertainment, hard mattresses

Recommends Diamond Princess? No.
