It was my first cruise. I was a solo cruiser. This cruise is what started my love of cruising and being able to be in several different places within a week.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
It was so easy, even for a 1st time cruiser/ solo cruiser.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Main dining room was very tasty, even for a somewhat picky eater. I even tried the specialty Italian restaurant and expanded my palate.
Onboard Activities

It was way too cold to get in the pools, especially when we were by the glaciers. I'm sure they would've been nice to take advantage of it were warmer, but it is Alaska at the end of September, so no biggy. I did the 5k walk for Breast Cancer, which felt good, because there was a nice breeze while we walked around the ship, up and down the stairs.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The shows, comedians and piano players were amazing.
Children's Programs
I didn't have any kids with me.
Service and Staff

They were very personable and somehow remembered your name. The entertainment staff were very nice and funny.
Ship Quality

The ship was very clean and everything wasn't too far away from the room.

It was well enough for one person. Those showers are small, like one of the comedians commented about. He said he lathered himself up and then just kept turning himself around in the shower like a washing machine.
The Glacier Gardens Rainforest Adventure was beautiful. I loved the carvings in the trees. Also, being able to stand in front of the big waterfall at Mendenhall Glacier was majestic. I took the tramway up and saw the bald eagles. Very cool and a good photo op.
I did the Yukon territory bus tour, White Pass Railway and Husky adventure. Our tour guide was funny and informative. I loved standing outside on the train ride, even though it was cold and a little rainy. The Husky pups were so cute.
It was pretty cold up close to the Glaciers, but they handed out very warm blankets. We actually got to see the glaciers calving off and one of them looked like a wizard with a hooded cloak on.
I actually stayed another week in Alaska, with my cousin who was living in Wasilla at the time. Very pretty, but definitely the scenery was better that the big city of Houston.
