Review summary

The best cruise I ever had. They made everything easy from checkin to departure. The food was so much better than the Oceania cruises this year. Umi Uma has great Nobu cuisine and Prego has super Italian food. The entertainment was better on Symphony of the Seas but they are not equipped or known for over the top entertainment. The lecture series were very interesting. The public areas are very inviting (nice places to eat your Ben and Jerry ice cream!). I’m looking forward to my next Crystal cruise next year.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
It is the easiest checkin of any cruise I’ve been on. There were enough people to check passengers in so there was no line

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The best food on any cruise line. Umi Uma had delicious Nobu cuisine, especially the sushi, and Prego had outstanding mushroom soup and the best lamb I’ve ever had.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
I attended some of the lectures onboard and found them interesting. The pool area was never crowded. The Mozart tea was special.

Entertainment

I didn’t go to any shows, lounges or movies

Children's Programs

No children

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The wait staff in the restaurant made sure my niece had a gluten free option, the stewardess would always leave a reminder of my trip in a humorous way each night, the butler always made sure my favorite beverage was ALWAYS available.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship has a beautiful and well appointed interior that was always clean and functioning.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The Crystal Penthouse was like a home away from home. It was large enough to entertain the other 5 persons traveling with me. The butler was fantastic.

Ship tip

My advice to anyone sailing on Crystal Serenity is to be prepared for true 5 star service.

Ports of call

Venice, Italy

5 out of 5
The location made self guiding the city as easy accomplishment.

Dubrovnik, Croatia

5 out of 5
The city is beautiful and the history very interesting.

Kotor, Montenegro

5 out of 5
Sailing into is an experience in itself with the beauty of its fjord. The people are so friendly and helpful. The city can be a little congested with pedestrians but there are plenty of side alleys to escape it.

Corfu, Greece

5 out of 5
The shopping in Corfu was wonderful. The pediatrician district was great.

Gallipoli, Italy

3 out of 5
There was very little to do in the port itself.

Taormina, Sicily

5 out of 5
I did a “godfather” tour with a private tour company and it was the best day during the entire cruise. The lunch we had in Taormina was the best food during the cruise.

Sorrento, Italy

3 out of 5
I didn’t like the crowds the were everywhere in the city

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

5 out of 5
I had a private tour of Rome with my family. I had been there many times and was nice to be back.

Monte Carlo, Monaco

5 out of 5
I spent the first dat in Eze enjoying the view and shops. The second day was spent in St. Paul de Venice and we wished we had more time there to look at the shops.

Barcelona, Spain

3 out of 5
It was too crowded there and difficult to see the sights

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We were scheduled to get off at 8:15am and they were punctual. The luggage was nicely laid out in an easy to find manner.

Nice review. Agree Crystal is wonderful. Just a few days now before we board Symphony again.
