Review summary

At first, we were a little disappointed and did not know what to expect due the Ketchikan port cancellation and limited stay in Juneau. Once we were on the Ship, we felt that something wonderful and amazing was happening. The Cruise personnel, service and staff, went above and beyond to make our cruise great. Taking into consideration all of the COVID restrictions for the past two years and that the cruising industry was hit hard by it, Princess Cruises did an outstanding job. we highly recommend this Alaska Cruise to everyone. We are planning on our next cruise already.

Embarkation

If you download the Medallion app and have all your traveling documents, it is a very smooth process.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Main dining rooms were cleaned and spotless. Food was excellent. Buffet was delicious and varied.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We enjoyed the Pools, the movies under the stars, the night shows and we were regulars at the Piazza, especially for the Violin duo. Both violinists are top professional musicians.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Stage shows and musicians were great. We really enjoyed the Violin shows at the Piazza. We loved the Soprano in the encore stage show.

Children's Programs

Our kids wanted to see the violin shows, the stage shows, explore the ship, visit the library, enjoy the pools and watch movies with ice cream and shakes.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
ALL of the service staff were excellent. ALL the service staff deserve the utmost respect. We are grateful for such an outstanding customer service. We met people form Macedonia, Serbia, The Philippines, Mexico, Peru, Brazil, Portugal, India, Romania, Chile, Granada, Panama, South Africa, Ukraine. The Cruise Manager and her staff did an outstanding job. Finally, all of the ship's crew kept us safe and for all of that we will come back to Princess Cruises.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Layout and design were excellent. The Medallion App is a great tool while on the ship. The ship was clean and shiny.

Cabin / Stateroom

Overall, the cabin stay was good. Jun kept it spotless and was very cooperative and attentive. He is an outstanding and humble guy.

Ship tip

It is worth every penny. The staff went above and beyond to make our cruise great.

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington

Our home ports. We live in Seattle.

Juneau, Alaska

We would have rated this port excellent if the excursion for the Mendenhall Glacier would have been better organized. It was less than stellar and chaotic to say the least. There was no control boarding the buses and that left some people that were in same groups being separated into separate buses or spread in separated seats. One of the excursions drivers was rude, not customer oriented and did not seem to like constructive critique. When approached about the excursion organization, he did not seem to care about it. He told me that I needed to refer my complaints to the Princess Cruises.

Skagway, Alaska

Excellent. Very well organized, highly recommend the train excursion and a city self-tour.

Glad you had fun. Yeah probably not a lot that will be done to organize short bus rides like that. I've never seen them take the time to assign seats or make sure groups stay together. The bus driver probably hears that complaint regularly but is not in a position to change the system and is too busy to listen. Referring you to customer services is the best answer. Telling you to go pound sand would be a rude response.
