Review summary
This was our 2nd Princess cruise to the Mexican Riviera, a destination we had not visited for more than two decades. Registration at Pier 93 went well and we were excited for a week of pampering. The ship we found to be mediocre in much need of refurbishing as much of the outdoor wood showed it's wear of 9 years, toilets were requiring repair, elevators did not always move once the doors closed, and the buffets areas were small and got crowded quickly. The food, just like on the Regal Princess last February, was nothing better than mediocre. We found the food at the buffets was a bit tastier than that in the dining room. My husband bought hot sauce at our first port to add to the food to make it somewhat enjoyable. The crew was quite professional and constantly greeting each passenger with a smile. However, their personality, for the most part, was mediocre by focusing on their job rather than keeping the passengers smiling. Following this cruise, we decided for our future cruising we would return to Royal Caribbean where their ships are beautiful and well-kept, food is tasty, and the crew has a fun personality.
