Review summary
I have been on probably 12 cruises and this was the worst experience yet. Was not impressed with Princess at all. The cruise director was unlike any I had ever had and not in a good way. He was not very involved and definitely not funny. The entertainment was very lacking. The ship's singers/ dancers were more high school quality. Very few props were used in the show and costume changes were minimal. Looks like they were trying to save money. The sound system was not sufficient either. There was only 1 comedian and he was okay but not great at all.
Food was just okay. It is pretty bad when I go on a ship and none of the desserts are tempting at all. The anytime dining was a joke. Anytime must mean you can go to the dining room anytime- anytime you want to wait an hour. Any time we tried to make reservations, they were full.
We took a shore excursion in Matzalan that was very misrepresented. We spent 3 days "fighting" with Princess to get a partial refund and they only gave us 20 percent back after much work on our part. The excursion was not what they said at all. There were many of us upset over it.
Many of the staff were not friendly at all, and in fact, were quite snotty to us at times. The one positive was our mini suite was very nice and Dax as our room steward was the best.
Sorry Princess, I cannot afford to try a 2nd time. You blew it the first time. First impressions mean a lot.
