7 Night Voyage Of The Glaciers Northbound (Vancouver To Whittier)
Sail Date: July 05, 2014
Ship: Crown Princess
Cabin Type: Balcony
Cabin Number: TBA
Traveled As: Couple

Almost 3 hour wait in Vancouver before processing thru Crown Princess to board ship.  Was not greeted with friendly personnel; seemed tired and exasperated.  Cabin and cabin steward was good.  Food was not up to par with other cruise lines that we had experienced.    Medical emergency was difficult to handle to get transportation back home; Monica handled getting the doctor's appointment but left us to find our way to the appointment.  Walked for 30 minutes in the wind and rain to down town Juneau, AK and could not get a taxi cab to take us as only two passengers.  Multiple cruise ships were in town and they wanted the larger groups.  Finally caught a woman cab driver coming out of a restaurant and begged her to take us to the doctor's appointment which was miles out of town in a residential area.  She had sympathy and called her dispatcher to get someone else to take her pickup while she took us.  Meanwhile we say a white Princess van pass us twice during this search but would not stop.  VERY BAD EXPERIENCE and still continuing since I had to return home and now can not get the agent or Princess to split out the cost of the cruise from the 3-day land tour to be able to claim on the Vacation Protection policy that sold us.  We cancelled the 3-day land tour 3-days prior to the start of the land tour but we get NO COOPERATION.  This was our seventeenth cruise but first with Princess; we will not be making a second cruise with Princess!

Food and Dining

Buffet was terrible, it seemed like the food has been recycled and put into a different form.

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

Almost all of the entertainment shows were Crown Princess personnel. One night comedian was brought on board.

Ship Quality

Crown Princess balcony stateroom was OK, did not have a couch and coffee table like all the other ships we have been on.

Cabin / Stateroom

Different than any other ship we have been on. Did not have a couch in room; bed and one chair.

Ship Tip

Be sure you understand "Any time dining" are you will be upset; requires you to call and make an appointment for dining in the dining room and usually can only get 5:00-5:15.

Took off ship to go to doctor. Spent over 30 minutes in wind and rain trying to get a cab to take us to doctor appointment.

Nothing particularly special - did the dog sled tour but the sled ride only lasted a few minutes. Probably over-priced.

Difficulty with Passenger Services Desk trying to arrange medical flight home.
