A besutiful cruise by AlessandraV

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Costa Victoria / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

The ship was very nicely layed out, the restaurants and sittings were very well organised, there were never long lines or long waits for anything. However, for the size ship I was expecting a bigger gym, better pool area and more facilities for kids. This was the ony disappointing aspect of the ship. The food was generally very good and varied, specially the buffets for lunch. While drinks were available at all times from the different bars, hot beverages like tea and coffee were not available at all times and this was inconvenient. All the staff and crew were very friendly and helpful at all times. The night shows were excellent and the ports of call could not be better. I also liked that they ship had environmentally friendly programmes, like for reduced waste and fresh water conser vation. We had a very good time.

A lovely ship, but too large for my taste. Food was good, not great. The staff were absolutely incredible - courteous, helpful and professional.

Costa Victoria 14 day India Sri Lanka Maldives by Lesleyporter

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Costa Victoria

With costa you will need to time your free water and coffee and tea with meals pay your daily gratuities and be early on a sea day to get a sun bed europeans like to reserve for the day 🙄 no matter if the use or not and costa have no policy discouraging this, there is no waiter service around the pool deck and food can be same same.. they cater for Italian passengers first ..late night life, fixed dining time at the restaurant, mix of European nationality’s, except this and you will enjoy ..staff are great mostly Filipino or Indian as per..

Cool. Summer-winter! Very unusual。 India and Sri Lankan require psychological training。

5D4N Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia... by JonathanTang

Sail date: /
Ship: Costa Victoria

5D4N Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia (November 2017, Inside Premium) Before we go on to Costa Victoria, we read that most of the review are bad. But we will like to comment, overall, we enjoyed the whole Cruising. Don't expect too much for over 25 years old ship but in fact, it worth as far as the price we paid. Food is good and value for money such as variaty of choices for seafood but the Asian food taste is rather bland. On board activities were less varied but most of the staffs are nice, including the housekeeper. Everyday our room is clean and nice. Ports experience was not winning any first impression prize. They start late and people are all crowded in less than suitable condition during embarkation time in Singapore. But after that, in Phuket and Penang, everything was much better coordinated. So, overall it worth the money.

Pros: - excellent performance - loving... by hisokaomi

Sail date: /
Ship: Costa Victoria

Pros: - excellent performance - loving the live cooking stations for buffet breakfast - pool side snacks include noodles and burgers. Cons: - indoor jacuzzi is closed for maintenance during most of my cruise stay - snacks in buffet place early morning is not fresh - coffee runs out a few times in buffet and not promptly replenished. - pool deck is dark and not operating beyond 7pm. - we are asked to vacate our cabins by early morning even though our ship will reach our home port around noon.

Average service, poor security.jewelries stolen from bag upon disembarkation by RTMoreira

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Costa Victoria / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

I spent my New Year in the cruise. It could have been a good vacation, just average the food, staff could be friendlier, entertainment needs improvement. However, when the bags were collected for disembarkation, it was opened and all my jewelries were gone. Poor security, according to the ship, they couldn't put surveillance cameras due to privacy issues, but I guess this gives the license for the staff to steal.

Never choose Costa! Horrible experience !!!!!!!!!!!! by Katerina

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Costa Victoria / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

I have to say, the Costa cruise line was totally failure. I spent more than $1700+ USD for my trip (per person), and the following are the services I received. First, the cruise itself is a 18 years old ship and had many places seems broken down. I saw many "maintenance in progress" sign at spa, sauna rooms, bars, where we couldn't use for few days and even my cabin drawers were broken.

More, the first night dinner was a chaos. The company arranged that all the passengers separated into two groups for dinner ( We couldn't pick our own times and each day can only eat once, every differ than other cruise line that I had been on). And they mess up the first dinner time so badly that we had to wait for 40 mins to have our dinner. Everyone on the second round dinner list were in front of the restaurant, yelling, it was a pretty scene. Costa should have a better management plan in terms of organizing it's dinner time.

Moreover, the servers on the cruise wasn't friendly at all. I went to talk to the information desk couple times, and some of the workers had attitudes toward customers. Plus I never see the restaurant waiters smile once but messing up my food orders couple times and never pour us water until I ask for it.    On the third night, the six floor was flooded because of the heavy rain on the sea---> flooded cruise? I really don't know how save it wasAngry

....

Last but not least, the food quality was the poorest!!!!!! Some of the plates were dirty like this:

My sister ate a ROTTEN fish one night and I got a  POISONOUS potato the following dinner---> my potato had roots that were about an inch long, I really don't think they did a good job on food quality control...... The following is not apple.... but a potato...

The reason that I couldn't stand because the manager didn't even apologize or do anything about it! My parents and many of other passengers were complaining about lobsters the company offered was a scam, because the lobsters seem old and had very little meats in them. More, the whole ship don't offer other drinks but water except breakfast (unless you purchase them) and the water all had weird taste and smell.  HORRIBLE!

I was really excited about the cruise trip and expecting having a good time with my family, but all I got was anger and dissatisfaction. I DO NOT recommend anyone to choose Costa cruise line if you want to have a good memories with friends and family!!!

A Nice Cruise, with a Disaster Ending!!! by JesusH1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Costa Victoria / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

During the trip the Staff Quality was pretty good, until we changed Port of Entry from Venice because of the fog (weather issues). The staff was rude, un respectful and did not anticipate the lack of transportation and logistic needed to move us around. Incredibly wrong managed situation, looks like the staff team was not prepared for this type of situation.

Wonderful cruise by IsabelA1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Costa Victoria / Destination: Europe

I have been on this ship twice in the past 2 years. Once for 21 days and the other for 14. My overall experience was excellent. Ample accomodations, excellent service with attention to detail. Ports of call were unique and wonderful. Ship's size is perfect. It is a refreshing change from the mega size ships which can be uncomfortable, inpersonal and busy. I also enjoy the diversity of cultures found on Costa ships.

Never book with Coast, no customer care by AaronS2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Costa Victoria / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

We were never able to board the ship along with 50 other passengers because of a volcanic eruption in Europe that cancelled all the flights in Europe for 5 days. This was the worst airline delays that have ever happened in Europe. It was absolutely impossible to fly into Venice for 5 days. This happened to be two days before the cruise left and three days after the cruise left port. I called and emailed the day before the ship left explaining there was no possible way for us to get there. Costa did not respond until after I sent three emails spaced over two weeks. Ultimately, they kept all our money and offered no form of reimbursement or credit. Their response to the situation was "A natural occurrence such as this is out of the control of the air carrier and cruise line. Our terms and conditions, which the guest agrees to and which are listed in our brochures and our website, clearly define cancellation penalties. When booking a cruise with Costa Cruise Lines, this action defines that you agree to our terms and conditions. We hope you understand this is an extreme situation and an "Act of God," normal cancellation penalties apply. Regretfully, we are not able to provide compensation for this cancellation" The frustrating thing is that there was absolutely no way to get to Venice for the cruise. Airlines and Hotels recognized the unique circumstance and adapted their policies by offering refunds and other forms of reimbursements. Costa simply said tough luck and kept everything for absolutely no service rendered. If you book with Costa be aware they are only focused on revenue and not the customer!

Never use Costa Cruise lines! by BethanyG

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Costa Victoria / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

I booked a trip with Costa Cruise lines during the time period that the Iceland volcano cancelled >10,000 flights from the US to Europe. I even bought multiple airline tickets to try to get to Europe. Since the flights were cancelled, and there was absolutely no way of getting to our port, there was no way of going on the cruise. I got 100% refunds on all of my airline tickets, and even the hotel stays, even though they had a "no refund policy." Costa cruises was not only the only part of my trip to not give me a refund, but they would not even issue me a credit to travel with them at a later date, giving the reason that this was a "god-given" event not in their control. This was supposed to be my honeymoon trip. I guess an act of god gives this cruiseline the right to profit off of me, and I'm sure many other people that day. I chose to go on Costa because of a previous cruise that I enjoyed, but after this, I will NEVER think about sailing with them again!

Great cruise by NancyC19

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Costa Victoria / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

The accommodations were nice but not luxurious. I did think that some of the furnishings in some of the lounges were a little worn looking. The midnight buffet was a little disappointing -- not the extensive spread found on other cruises. The buffet food was only okay but the dining rooms with wait service had excellent food. The ship was kept very clean.
