We won’t select a Costa cruise again. We thought by upgrading our accommodations, the dining, and the beverage package, we’d have a very luxurious time. Far from the experience we actually had.

Food and Dining

We ate mostly at the “club”, supposedly their best cuisine which we had paid extra for before embarking. It was simply horrible! Largely inedible! It tries to be fancy, and presentation looks good, but the quality of ingredients and their preparation fail miserably. Service slow. We had purchased a drink package, but were always waiting a long time for a refill. In the buffet area you can find a thing or two that you like if you are lucky, and will likely have that same thing all week. All drinks there are self serve. No waiters will offer you coffee, juice, or a drink. You must get it yourself. And you might have a long walk to the closest bar and also a long wait. I’ve been on many cruise lines and never had such a bad experience with food and beverages.
Onboard Activities

Used the casino a couple of times and found it uncrowded since there were few things to do that were any fun.
Entertainment

Ok in piano bar but walked out on the only stage show we attended.

Service and Staff

Butler was just ok. Responded to our wishes though not enthusiastically. Waitress at the club was impressive, and we finally sought her advice about ordering more palatable dishes. She would quietly tell us when certain dishes were not going to be good. Waiters in the bar and buffet areas only clean tables. Wish they would take orders for drinks and be allowed tips so that service and attitudes would improve.

Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Paid a lot extra for the room with balcony and came with other privileges. Only the cabin was worth it. Steward kept it nice and was probably the friendliest staff we met.
Efficient. Wish they could give you a heads up ahead of time about the time you’ll be allowed off so you can arrange transportation. They won’t. Finding a cab was no problem.
