Review summary

I liked the ship's European style very much, it offered a relaxed environment and plenty of quiet and private spots for those searching for areas like these. The staff was very polite at all times. There were a couple of negative issues as listed under the Dining and Excursion areas. Overall, I recommend the Costa brand and will use in future trips.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Food at the self-service restaurants was good and offered a large variety. However, at the main dining it was not very tasty.

Cabin / Stateroom

Some strong odors in the bathroom, that did not go away even with daily cleaning.

Ports of call

Casa De Campo, Dominican Republic

Had a bad experience at port La Romana, D.R., this area should not be recommended for travelers, it felt unsafe even on daytime. However, the opposite of Altos de Chavon, which was an ideal location just minutes away.
Don't Miss: Altos de Chavon.

Grand Turk Island

San Juan, Puerto Rico

This outing can be done by foot. There is no need to pay for a shuttle service. You can see all of the key sites and the old town within minutes of the ship's dock.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

Pros: The ship's European style cruising.

Cons: Dinners at the main restaurant.
