Great Vacation ! by Chris26804626

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Coral Princess / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

The ship & staff were impressive. They do an amazing job catering to the needs of 1970 passengers. I'm not really a "cruise junky" rather I went to see the amazing sites of Alaska. Consequently, the emphasis on overeating & trying to sell you jewelry at each port of call was not welcome. In particular I objected to the 2 formal nights and was prohibited from their lobster dinner since I did not bring formal wear. Prior to the cruise we were traveling in BC and went inland after the cruise so I had alot of gear to pack...no room for the tux. This is an antiquated event that s/b done away with. I think they do it so they can sell you even more pix taken by their crew.

A Must Do Cruise!! by Bumpa47

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Coral Princess / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

Princess does it right.  They seem to own the cruise industry in Alaska.  The cruise was Five Star all the way.  Great food, great rooms, great service.  They really care about their customers. When we finished the cruise we had a seven day land tour aboard the Princess glass topped train and we stayed in the Princess lodges which were grand.  Everything went smoothly without a single hitch.  We saw Denali for three days without a cloud in the sky.  Not sure if Princess arranged that but they did everything else perfectly so......?  We went the last week in July through the first week in August and the weather was perfect.

Medical disaster by JohnM64

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Coral Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

There was a so called outbreak of Norwalk Virus on the ship. I got sick, but thought it was food poisening. Never say "food poisening" on a ship, they go nuts and deny deny, deny! The medical staff was rude and nasty. Never again on Princess!

Great First Cruise by CaroleM1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Coral Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Our Princess Cruise was extremely well organized, from pickup at the airport in Vancouver to our departure at Anchorage airport. Princess employees were there every step of the way. Aboard ship, the employees were available to meet your every need, they were friendly and courteous. The food was excellent no matter where you chose to dine and activities were un-ending. There was something for everyone to do. The shore excursions were exactly as described. We saw whales as promised and the White Pass Railroad definately did not disappoint us; the Mendenhall glacier was very interesting as was Saxman Village. Glacier Bay and College Fjord were outstanding. We did, however, feel rushed at the salmon bakes (we went to two) and the meals were exactly the same. Overall, the trip itself was great. We did have one complaint and that was with Air Canada airlines. Our luggage was lost and the airport employees were very nonchalant and seemed not to care. We finally got our luggage two days later in Ketchikan. We were totally disappointed by Air Canada, one bag was so damaged that it will have to be replaced. Princess Cruises (who booked our flights) stayed in contact with Air Canada and kept us updated until our luggage was finally delivered. Other than that, we had a good time.

Best cruise ever! by MarjorieH1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Coral Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

We left Vancouver June 23, 2008 for a week long Alaska cruise and then a week land trip with Princess Line. This was our first trip with this line. From the minute we got on board I fell in love with the ship. It was so clean and easy to get around. Our room was a mini suite and was very large. Our room was always cleaned and ready for us when left it. We had the choice of anytime dinning so we took that and never had to wait on a table no matter what time we ate and the choice of food was exlellent. The land trip was a must. I don't think I could ever do another trip to Alaska with out doing both again. It was very organized. We did not have the first mix up.

Superb Christmas Cruise Coral Princess by LuchaK

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Coral Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

If you like modern bling and glitz you will not find it here. The interior is tastefully decorated giving you the feel of sailing in an upscale hotel. The dinning room is some what plain but the food and service was excellent.

Superb Cruise! by JohnI2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Coral Princess / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

our 17th Princess cruise, first time into the Panama Canal, good itinerary with at sea days spaced evenly throughout cruise, one of 6 ships in Cozumel and one of 8 ships in Grand Cayman so it was crowded ashore, stage show productions were first rate, good individual acts (one singer, one magician, one ventriloquist, one comic who had the standard cabin toilet and buffet line gags that are all worn out..he was a very good impressionist), balcony cabin was nice and our cabin attendant was absolutely stellar, ship seems to roll a bit more than the Princess Grand-class ships but not to the point of inducing seasickness (it actually helps rock one to sleep), phenomenal food in the dining rooms including lobster, king crab, prime rib, shrimp, scallops, lamb...really good soups and starters, great fruit sorbets, the wait staff was quite attentive and provided first class service, drinks are getting more expensive every cruise, worst cruise director in the Princess fleet should be replaced by his assistant who had a far superior stage presence and voice, the rest of the cruise director staff was nice, wide variety of activities throughout the ship, trivia games were tough, ballroom dance class very good

Nice Time --Cruised March 2007 by DaveK3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Coral Princess / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

Overall a very good cruise but had a few limitations. The cruise called the Panama Canal Experience" means only going thru the first locks into Gatun Lake. Not a full journey thru the canal. Also we planned an excursion in Panama but had to blow it off to experience the locks a second time. The excursion was always showing a TBA departure time and now we know why. Spent too little time in Cayman and too much time in Cozumel. Overall not bad tho, glad we took cruise but probably wouldnt do it again.

Wonderful cruise by M5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Coral Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My family and i went on this cruise in July 2006. It was the second voyage out to the western caribbean. Our servants were extremely poliet and were always looking to help you. Food was delicious and there was a wider variety [ though i missed the italian night in the buffet, i was quite upset because i was dying for some pasta and mariana sauce.] Ice cream was great even though u had to pay a few dollars[am an ice cream lover and thought the quanity you got for it was pretty good =) ]. Loved movies under the stars & entertainment was great. With the cruise tipping on the 9th day[leaving fl going to ny] everyone was going crazy. princess offered the cruise to anyone who needed to stay until their arrangements were made to fly home. Staff was very helpful throughout that whole experience and if u weren't able to find family they stayed with you until you did. food that night was quiet and on top of thing .. theyeven helped plan our arrangements to get home. Full refund from the cruise was given quickly. Would def. cruise princess again just not on a new boat.

Fantastic cruise by JudyM12

Sail date: /
Ship: Coral Princess / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

Staff was friendly, very clean ship, the decor was outstanding--plenty to do on board the ship--we had a balcony; went through the Panama Canal at our balcony--sipping special breakfast-with champagne! The Broadway style shows were excellent and the indiividual acts brought onto the ship were good to great. The actual trip through is amazing--we stopped in the Canal Area ata Christobel--4 hours--shopped for native items--it's quite an achievement to behold. Took 8 hours. Definitely feel it is best to start in LA and go entire length--landed in Ft. Lauderdale.

Overall - Magnificent! by NancyR9

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Coral Princess / Destination: Alaska

The high level of efforts to control cleanliness and backteria was very impressive and appreciated!. The housekeeping is certainly under strict control! There was such an awareness created by the use of hand cleaners with food consumption that it made a lasting impression on ways to control outbreaks of illnesses when attempting to have a good time!

Great Trip - Lot's of "Firsts" - First time in Costa Rica - First Time in the Canal, First Time for Grand Cayman. Only made if half way through the canal, loitered a bit and retraced our steps - but didn't have time back in those days for the full passage.
