Review summary

Overall, this circumnavigation cruise of Australia took us to amazing destinations in a more efficient manner than flying from place to place...and we only had to unpack once!

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Major issues with Princess Medallion which complicated embarkation experience...not a good start.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food and lunch/dinner service in the dining rooms was very good as was the variety of dishes offered. The breakfast service was terrible on multiple occasions, very slow--took 20 minutes just to get a cup of coffee, entrees not always served hot. The service at the steak specialty restaurant was excellent. Although the food there was good, it was not worth the premium charged to dine there. The buffets offered good variety.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Attended all the travel lectures. They were very informative and the enrichment speakers were very good.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The variety of performers and stage shows was very good, except for the comedians of which only one or two really provided good entertainment. The performers in the various lounges were excellent.

Children's Programs

No children

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Room steward, bartenders, dining room staff, and Sanctuary staff went above and beyond to provide us with an excellent experience.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship's layout and design was unusual with dining rooms and buffet in the front rather than the back of the ship but this was not an issue. The common areas were clean and well-maintained but the overall decor seemed a little dated.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Very satisfied with size, comfort, and cleanliness of the cabin thanks to our outstanding Room Steward.

Ship tip

Bring face masks. Too many passengers coughed without covering their faces and frequented the common areas and shore excursion buses oblivious to the health and safety of others.

Ports of call

Sydney, Australia

So much to see and do here. Very convenient to walk off the ship in the center of the city.

Brisbane, Australia

Cruise Willis Island, Australia

This is not a port. The ship cruises by Willis Island and passengers are notified as to where to look for the island.

Cairns, Australia

Cruise Freycinet

There is no port. We cruised the Kimberly Coast with its beautiful red rocks, very picturesque,

KURI BAY, WESTERN AUSTRALIA

5 out of 5
We were warned that this excursion would be very strenuous even though it was rated moderate. We went anyway and enjoyed every minute--a unique experience.

Broome, Australia

Geraldton, Australia

4 out of 5
The cost of the excursion shuttle is not worth it. The shuttle only goes to three locations and the bus driver does not provide any historical or helpful information. Walking around the city on one's own is very interesting and worth doing,

Fremantle (Perth), Australia

BUSSELTON (MARGARET RIVER), AUSTRALIA Did not visit port

Due to weather issues in Geraldton that delayed our schedule, we regretfully could not visit this port.

Albany, Australia Did not visit port

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Have cruised for more than a decade on various cruise lines and usually find disembarkation a nightmare. But Princess handled the process better than any other cruise line. It was quick and efficient!

That’s great to read. Thanks so much for your review. The info was very helpful. We are going on the Coral in about 6 weeks time, around Australia. Can’t wait! 😎👍

Sounds like a wonderful cruise! I agree…when I read other disembarkation nightmares, I don’t get it. All of our Princess ones have been easy.
