Review summary

We chose this cruise because of the port-intensive itinerary and to try Aqua Class on a revolutionized ship. We did not leave disappointed one bit! Blu alone was worth the upgrade to Aqua. The Persian Garden was nice but the sauna and steam room stopped working for a while while we were in them. The fitness center is very well appointed. We never waited long at bars to be served, and there are waiters floating around the pool deck all day. We absolutely loved this cruise!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We didn’t stop moving at all. We arrived around 3:30 PM and walked right onto the ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Blu far exceeded our expectations! The food was excellent but it was the service that went above and beyond. Everyone, from the hostess to the sommelier to the drinks server to all of the waiters were outstanding!

Blu

5 out of 5

Incredible! We loved the attentive service and interesting menu. We only had to wait twice for a table for two, which we didn’t mind doing at all. Iva (the hostess) was a delight and became a friend.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We didn’t partake in many of the onboard activities.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
My one complaint about this sailing was the lack of quality entertainment in the Theater. One night was taken up by the Super Bowl, which replaced one of the production shows. However, the small bands and singers that performed throughout the ship were great!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
This was by far the best service we’ve ever had on a cruise.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Summit was beautiful and immaculately clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Excellent location at the top of the ship. Walk one deck down to the pool, Oceanview Cafe, or Sunset Bar. Our room steward was incredible! We loved the slightly larger balcony with minimal overhead coverage.

Ship tip

Always pass through the Rendezvous Lounge on your way to/from dinner to see what’s going on. It’s a beautiful space. And don’t miss the silent disco!

Ports of call

San Juan, Puerto Rico

5 out of 5
We had a late flight after the cruise so we rented a car and drove around the beautiful island for a few hours.

Roseau, Dominica

5 out of 5
Gorgeous island. Titou Gorge is a must-see!

Bridgetown, Barbados

5 out of 5
We did a private catamaran/snorkeling excursion, which was excellent.

St. George's, Grenada

5 out of 5
Gorgeous island with very friendly people! We walked around town.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We walked off at 8 am with our luggage without delay. The customs lines were long but they opened a third line while we were waiting which sped things up.

We're going to do the same thing - try out Aqua Class on the Summit toward the end of April. Your review makes me even more eager for sail away. Thanks for the review!
