Review summary

Great, relaxing time on a beautiful ship. Great itinerary as only one sea day. Recommend taking over the holiday as the staff did a great job on NYE!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Couldn’t be better, on the ship in 5 minutes with expedited check in!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food in the Main Dining Room was very good, better than expected. Wait staff, especially Astawa and Greson were incredible. The sommelier service was horrible and I wish they would just let the waitstaff handle the wine and bar service. We also ate at Blu, the restaurant for Aqua Class rooms, and it was fantastic! Food, service, presentation, ambiance were wonderful.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
We were in port 5 of 6 days so didn’t spend a lot of time on the ship those days. Honestly was disappointed with the lack of activities available on the sea day. Played Bingo on the one and only day it was offered. Celebrity needs to get rid of the wooden boards and punch cards...too cumbersome.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Theater production shows were good. Guest entertainment was fantastic NYC 3 was fantastic and had the entire audience on their feet. Vox Audio was good and very talented. Comedian was fantastic! The solo singer was amazing, but wasn’t a fan of the house band. Very hard to understand them at times and female lead forgot words to the songs multiple times

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Service was fantastic and everyone was very professional. My only complaint was that the crew was not very friendly. Other than the cruise director and staff and the top officers, none of the crew ever smiled or engaged in conversation. It was disappointing, as I love getting to know the crew. On the other had, this is the first cruise I have ever taken where the Captain and the top officers were out and about socializing all the time. They were on the dock every morning in port, walking around the ship, on the pool deck for NYE and on disembarkation they were on the gangway saying goodbye!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Beautiful ship recently refurbished.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Aqua Class stateroom with verandah. Nice clean crisp colors, plenty of storage space. USB ports on the desk and lamp, outlets on the lamp and desk. Verandah not large but big enough for 2 to fit comfortably. Only compliant is the room was right below the Oceanview Cafe and there was a huge overhang over the verandah which made picture taking challenging. Stateroom attendant did a great job.

Ship tip

Don’t skip eating at Oceanview, food is better than normal cruise buffet offerings!

Ports of call

San Juan, Puerto Rico

Visited the forts and walked around Old San Juan.

Bridgetown, Barbados

Did a private excursion around the island, visiting Harrison Caves, the Gully and then snorkeling. People were friendly

Castries, St. Lucia

5 out of 5
Beautiful island, looks a to like Hawaii. People were very friendly. Did a private catamaran tour around the Caribbean side of the island and to the Pitons...a must see!

St. John's, Antigua

3 out of 5
Our excursion was cancelled due to mechanical issues, so we did a last minute replacement excursion through Celebrity which was terrible. We really didn’t spend much time on the island as our excursion met right on the dock and came back about an hour before all aboard.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

4 out of 5
Interesting island with two very distinct sides. Did an island tour visiting all sides. Lots of locals trying to get you to take pictures with the monkeys, but if you just say no thanks, they do leave you alone.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

4 out of 5
Did a walking food tour which was fantastic. Found some out of the way places to eat, learned a lot about the island.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Would have been a 5 but my sons luggage was lost and it took about 30 minutes to find it. Once we had it we were through immigration in 5 minutes.
