Review summary

This was a great cruise; we are in our 50s and 60s so we enjoyed mostly having mostly our contemporaries as fellow cruisers. It was relaxing while offering just the right amount of activities.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was great; nice to be able to board the ship so quickly (we got there around 11:15 and were on the ship by 12:00)

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food was good, didn't do the specialty restaurants but the main dining room and buffets were all good.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Silent disco was a blast. Did some game shows, used the pool and therapy spa. All were excellent. Played bingo on the last day.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Stage shows were good, comedian was good. Karyoke was good.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff was probably the most remarkable. All were friendly and engaging. Reggie on deck 3 was an excellent room steward. Nellie in the morning buffet was always pleasant with her pastry offerings and remembered people's names which made us feel special! There was also an attendant (don't remember his name) in the mornings at the buffet that filled people's coffee; he had so much joy and cheerfulness. It brightened our day every day. Wish we remembered his name!

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship's layout was convenient and well maintained. Despite her age the crew kept her looking clean and inviting!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The room was comfortable and well maintained. Reggie went the extra mile to provide an extension cord for my CPAP without me even having to ask! He was always respective of our schedule when making up the room. Size of the room was compact but efficiently designed.

Ship tip

Take the time to explore all the areas and to introduce yourself to Captain Kate who seemed to be very present and engaged in the passengers experience.

Ports of call

San Juan, Puerto Rico

Did a post cruise tour arranged through Celebrity on debarkation day. This was very special as "Ivan" was our host and "Ricky" was our driver. Despite the damage from the hurricane, they were clearly proud of their home and shared with us their determination to rebuild.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

5 out of 5
Did a St. Kitts tour on an open air bus. "Christian" was our guide who did an excellent job and made the tour so enjoyable.

St. John's, Antigua

3 out of 5
Did a highlights tour with "Marcel" as our guide. There were too many activities packed into one tour (Nelson's Dockyard could have and should have been a tour by itself) with the beach experience at the end being a little disorganized. When we paid for our umbrella, someone highjacked it. Beach experience could have been handled better

Castries, St. Lucia

5 out of 5
Did the pitons snorkel on a catamaran. This was excellent and the crew did a good job watching out for our safety and keeping the rum punch flowing after the snorkeling. Good times!!!!

Bridgetown, Barbados

Did the best of Barbados tour on a bus. Don't remember the young lady's name that did the tour but she was incredibly BORING. She didn't seem to either know enough or care enough to provide us with information other than reading signs as we would pass an area of interest. The bus was comfortable, the driver was good but the young lady giving the tour should probably find another line of work. The taxi drivers and tour guides were especially annoying when we were exploring the port area while waiting for our excursion; one taxi driver would not leave us alone even after we stated numerous time that we already had a tour booked. This experience kind of ruined our enjoyment of the port.

St. George's, Grenada

We did the lobster lunch snorkel trip. This was a great experience. The guides were very vigilant about watching out for our safety and enjoyment. The lobster lunch was better than expected although we had to wait a while for it. The lagoon we stopped at for lunch was heavenly (Calypso island). Would definitely recommend this tour. The port area was well maintained and inviting.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarkation was uneventful: we disembarked with the tour of San Juan. This was well organized with re-uniting us with our luggage and having our luggage transferred with the tour.
