Review summary

We enjoyed all the ports on the itinerary and the one day at sea.

The Celebrity crew and staff did a wonderful job, there was a nice variety of

on board activities for most age groups, and the entertainment was excellent.

However, this "mid size" ship needs to be either retired or rehauled. The staterooms are cramped, need updating in furnishings. Public areas are very dark, low ceilings, and the temperature not well regulated. The fitness area and spa are just average. Movie screen on upper level, not integrated with pool or other activities. Would not recommend for families with kids. Not enough fun stuff to do.

The food was, as most cruise ships, very ample and well prepared and presented; however, there was not enough variety. Specialty restaurants underwhelmlng.

Several passengers in our "concierge class" had issues with toilets, shower water pressure and security safe malfunctions. In short, it is just a BAD SHIP.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Wine service was a bit disorganized. Food at all meals ranged from good to excellent. The menu seemed a little "outdated" and not enough choices. Buffet was ample, but needed some different choices as well. Dining area in front of the ship... constant rocking.. (and the seas were calm)

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Pool area small compared to other ships. Many exercise classes and other activities required extra fee. We did enjoy the wine cellar tastings. Not enough to do for families with kids. Arcade area is a joke.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Excellent shows ALL nights. The Celebrity singers and dancers were lovely; Magic Show was great... and the Femmes Electric Violin performers rocked the boat! Amazing...

Children's Programs

Can't comment personally, but I don't think this is the best boat for kids....not enough to do.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our dining staff was awesome! Shout out to Jerome, Orlando and Milton. They tried very hard to accomadate all diners (gluten issues, and allergies) and were friendly and professional.

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
The Celebrity Summit needs to be retired. It is tired, claustrophobic, and lacks the pizzazz that you would expect. We were disappointed.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Terribly claustrophobic, bedskirt scuffed and torn, poor shower pressure, furniture and built-ins adequate but dated finishes. We had problems with in-room safe. Extremely narrow space between bathroom door and closets. Flooring in bathroom old and dated. Tile nasty. (And this was a concierge level room.) Balcony was long, but narrow.

Ship tip

I wouldn't sail on this ship again. I believe the larger Celebrity Ships offer much more in the way of space and activities.
