Review summary

We had a fantastic time on the Celebrity Summit.

FOOD & DRINKS

The food and drinks were amazing.  We ate at the main dining room every night and loved the food and the service was amazing!  We also purchased the beverage package, definitely the best thing we have done on a cruise vacation!!!!  I did the classic package and my husband had the premium and we both loved this and definitely got our money's worth!  I enjoyed a specialty coffee (or 2 or 3) everyday at the café on deck 5 and they were amazing!  We ordered room service every night also.  There is a $4.95 service charge to order room service between 11pm-5am but I love my room service so didn't mind paying it.  Room service was always fairly quick and food was food!  We always seemed to hit the buffet at the wrong time, during transition from breakfast to lunch and lunch to dinner, so it always seemed to be small selections but that's just our poor timing.  The food that I did have was always hot and delicious!  The eggs benedict station at breakfast was my favourite!

ROOM

Our stateroom was a good size.  We liked having the small couch in the room for people to sit on when they came by our room.  The cleaning staff were also great and our room was always cleaned and ready for us!

mini-bar: definitely the dumbest thing on this cruise!  We were charged $8 for a bottle of water, even though we had the beverage packages.  I could get a million free bottles everywhere on the ship except for in the room.  It seems silly to charge for water in the room...even an all-inclusive any where you go has free bottled water in the room!

ENTERTAINMENT

All the shows were great.  We like some more than others but we loved that the ship offered different shows throughout the evening at all the different lounges.  Gave us the opportunity to choose what we were in the mood for!  The comedian (18+ show) was awesome!  I forget his name but he was hilarious!!! The DJ at 'Revolutions' was medium as best...didn't do a great job keeping the crowd on the dance floor...we still had a blast tho!

CHECK-IN and DISEMBARKMENT

Smooth check-in, no complaints!  Check-out sucks! There is just something I hate about spending all that money and then behind pushed out like a herd of cattle.  Do they really need to make us get off at 8am???? I hate loosing all my baggage the night before, I hate being lined up so early in the morning and I really hate that room service is cut of the night before, our mini-fridge was locked the night before so the water I picked up earlier in the evening was  locked and of course I didn't realize until I woke up at 2am dying for water!

All in all the cruise was great!  You will always find small things that are annoying about every vacation.  This one was great and I would recommend it for sure!  The last negative thing I can think of is our account at the end of the week.  There were many errors and we had to visit guest relations and have them all fixed.  Make sure you keep an eye on your account balance so they don't sneak extra charges....like a couple drinks we were charged.
