Review summary

Rust on balcony and in our bathroom.  Staff was good, but nothing exceptional.  Cabin was fine, but candy on pillow only one night and no towel animals at all.  Cruise came with beverage package, thus all the drinks were included.  That worked well except that it was very inconsistent at the bars as to what brands they had.  If you wanted your drink with a specific brand of alcohol, you might have to got to a specific bar to get it.  Entertainment was okay.  The cruise director was not good at all.  He spent most of his time trying to get everybody to clap for the staff and entertainment.  Clearly there was a focus on non-traditional life styles, which the cruise director and some staff promoted at the Liar's Club event.  Ports were great, but the excursion options were not very enticing.  Most people we talked to just did their own thing.  If you go to Barbados and want to hire a taxi, ask around for Lydia.  She is fantastic and makes the day great.

Ship tip

This ship is very old and Celebrity either needs to clean it up or take it out of service. It really hurts their reputation.

I have been on this ship for two cruises.  To tell you the truth, I was too busy having a good time to notice any shabbiness.  My experience was very different than yours.  We all know though that crews change from sailings to sailings.  A cruise director can make or break a cruise.  I prefer to sail on the newer ships myself but consider itinerary first.  Thanks for posting.  Your experience is just as valid as mine.
