Review summary

This was a very good cruise.  We recommend you spend a couple of days in San Juan/Puerto Rico before or after the cruise as this is an interesting place with both natural beauty and lots of interesting history.

As for the cruise itself:  The Celebrity Summit is a nice, clean ship with an outstanding, efficient, and friendly crew and service staff.  The extra amenities which are provided for suite passengers were well worth the additional cost. The food was generally very good variety and flavor, with the exceptions of the pizza , paper-thin bacon, and a few dishes which were overcooked (lobster in the main dining room and room service omlette).  The open layout of the buffet is much less chaotic than we experienced on Princess cruise ships.

Snorkeling with green sea turtles and over ship wrecks in Barbados was awesome.  St Lucia offered good shopping in the local craft market, an easy walk from the pier. Antigua has many beautiful beaches.  A tour around St Maarten discovered a huge number of restaurants near Marigot and some good shopping along the Philipsburg Boardwalk and Front Street.  St. Thomas was a favorite with Celebrity's secret beach near Sugar Bay offering a beautiful and almost empty beach and some very good snorkeling.   The locals on all of the islands are friendly and helpful, the weather in January almost perfect, and the turquoise and azure waters amazing.

We highly recommend this cruise, both for the ship and the destinations.
