Review summary

Mid-December 2008, we took our seventh cruise and picked the Celebrity Summit, first because of the quality of the cruiseline and second because of the destinations. We were very pleased with our selection.

Food and Dining

My wife and I are picky. We enjoy excellent food and good -yet affordable- wine. At night, both the food and the service were top notch. Every dinner was a wonderful experience. In addition, the Assistant Maitre D' went out of his way to accommodate my wife's allergies. The disappointments were the breakfests and lunches; they were OK but not exceptional. Plus we felt that it was disorganized and could not efficiently manage the lines of people. The coffee: pretty bad.

Very elegant and classy ship. The ship is from a previous generation and we did not expect the "openess/spaciousness" of the latest ships coming out. Overall, we had a good time.

Great beaches and excellent diving. Nice tours. If you are adventurous like us, it is worth renting a Jeep to visit at your own pace the north and west sides of the island, stop by Eagle and Palm beaches, and enjoy this beautiful destination.

Perfect destination if you enjoy scuba diving. If not then, not much to do in town. Rent a scooter or an ATV.

Take the 3 hour island tour to discover both St.Marteen & St.Martin, and then ask to be dropped off downtown to shop, have a drink or enjoy the beach

We made the best out of a bad experience. The tour operator (booked through Cruises.com) did not show up. Locals were very helpful and we ended up with a cab driver visiting Emerald Falls.

Exceeded our expectations. We loved discovering the island and visiting the nutmeg plantation.
