Review summary

The ship is awsome. We were a family of 4 and found activities for all. Almost every one was friendly and service oriented. All areas are clean and well maintened. The whole ship looks like new and despite that it was completely booked, organization was superve to avoid big crowds and long lines. The decor of the ship is very nice and you get to see quite a bit of art work.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
It is impossible to go on a diet because there are so many options and delicious dishes to try. Tha Grand buffete was incredible and I regret not havig eat less during the day. Martin the Maitre D, was exceptioaly freindly. Buying sodas in advance for the whole cruise is a mistake, since you get drinks down graded (machine served v.s. can) and waiters get disapointed with this fact.

Entertainment

Great shows, dancing and music.

Service and Staff

98% of the crew is devoted to service you well. Personel booking tours are not well trained or they do not get comssion, since they do not provide the information nicely. A latin man named antonio (I guess) was rude to us.

We were told that other captanis do not performe as wel as Cap. Greek greoganis (not well spelled sorry)

Ports of call

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

It is a new tourist location. The shops are disapointing and the town almost inexistent. They are learning on how to service the tourist industry, thus many mistakes are commited. The remote bush exploration and bear watching, is a total rip off, since you pay $104 dolars per person for a bus ride, with an unexperienced driver and tour guide. Bears I believe from what I heard, are very rare to be spoted in the wilderness and the only place you may see them for sure is the City Dumpster (quoting our guide). There was a theatre with native dancers that should be included with every tour as value added.
Don't Miss: none I would rather stopped somewhere else

Skagway, Alaska

The Heli tour to the Glaciers was very nice. It is expensive but worth every peny of it. It is one of the most popular tours, so book in advance, almost inmediately after boarding.

Sitka, Alaska

I belive is the nicest port of call we saw. Sourroundings are awsome and the shops are little different form the rest. The seaotter tour was very nice and we got to see quite an amount and varaity of wild life.
Don't Miss: Sea Otters

Juneau, Alaska

The whale watching tour was incredible and well conducted. The Mendenhall Glacier is a must. The town is very nice.
Don't Miss: The Mendenhall Glacier

Pros: Friendly service, quality of food, ship above expectations

Cons: Booking of tours can be improved a lot. Bear watching tour is a total ripoff
