Review summary

First time in Asia, but definitely not the last. The cruise with Celebrity was again excellent, the food, the service was perfect. We enjoyed the numerous oirts of calls and visited incredible places. Be prepared to spend lots of time travelling by bus to get to each excursions in Vietnam and Thailand, but believe me, they are worth it. Bon voyage

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We were in Aquaclass and the food was simply fantastic, both for breakfast and dinner. We went to the buffet for lunch on a couple of occasions and the foid was plenty and very good for a buffet style lunch. As for drink, they served a beautiful Pinot noir in Aquaclass that was included in the drink package. The speciakty coffee (Cappuccino) was excellent both in the dining room and at the 5th floor coffe shop.

AquaSpa Cafe

5 out of 5

One you go Aquaclass, its difficult to go back to main dinning room.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Am simply putting a 3 stars because I didn't participate in any activities.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The entertainment was really good, at least those nights that I attended.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Five stars for the service and staff at tge Aquaclass...4 stars for our steward and for tge personnel onboard

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The ship is a bit old, as not been revolutionized, but its clean and well maintained. Its quite easy to move around on the ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
I was in room 1610. The room was alright, the balcony was huge and the washroom had been renovated. The TV is not in front of the bed, so difficult to watch from bed when tired.

Ship tip

Focus on the trip and the excursions and enjoy..not on the little things here and there that could be improved.. Just enjoy

Ports of call

Laem Chabang (Bangkok), Thailand

Here we are in Bangkok, Thailand. This morning we visited the magnificent Buddhist temple of dawn named "Wat Arun". This temple was erected in 1778, stands more than 84 meters high and is located on the banks of the river. We took a “Rice boat” to get there. Bangkok is a simply magnificent city. After visiting the Temple of Dawn, we visited the Grand Palace which was the residence of the King of Siam. This Palace is literally covered in gold and was built by King Rama I in 1782 when Bangkok became the capital of Thailand. Bangkok is also a very modern capital where more than 11 million inhabitants live.

Ko Samui, Thailand

45 minutes drive from the port. A little town for shopping with a nice beach.

Phu My (Ho Chi Minh City), Vietnam

5 out of 5
Getaway to Ho Chi Minh (Saigon), Vietnam, to discover its architecture and French colonial influence. A nice surprise in terms of the cleanliness of the place and the kindness of the people for such a big city (nearly 10 million inhabitants).

Chan May (Hue), Vietnam

5 out of 5
Magnificent visit this morning to the sanctuary of My Son (Vietnam) to see an ancient Temple of the kingdom of Champa dating from the 7th century. The temple was heavily bombed and partially destroyed by the Americans during the Vietnam War in 1965-68. On a hot afternoon (33 degrees) we went to Da Nang to see the statue of the Budha woman (65 meters high), the Buddhist temples and the pretty beach of Da Nang. A long, but superb day, admiring this country with many faces.

Ha Long Bay City (Hanoi), Vietnam

5 out of 5
Took the trip to see the caves and the limstone rocks/islands. It was a bit hazy on that day but it was worthwhile.

Hong Kong

5 out of 5
We spent 5 days in Hong-Kong and really enjoyed it. There is alot to see and arriving a few days before is the way to go.

Singapore

5 out of 5

It's a pity it's only East Asia. It would have been more of an Asian cruise if it would be like a cruise from Dubai to Singapore or Manila. With stops in India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, as well. Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed your cruise. Thank you for your review
