Review summary

This was a dream vacation for us. We were in awe of the nature all around us. Alaska is a beautiful place. We have already scheduled another one for next year. The staff on board were all so wonderful, from the cruise director Kelly to Jay our cabin steward. The wait staff in the dining room were also very good and fun and the food was very good. I am thankful the Janice, our travel agent, made the suggestions that she did. It was and absolutely wonderful trip.

Ship tip

Be sure to visit the Sky Lounge. It was our favorite spot on the ship. The Tuscan Grill has very good food and a great view off the back of the boat.

Ketchikan, Alaska

We liked Ketchikan. It is a very pretty little town. Be sure to stop at the Scanlon Art Museum and then walk up to Creek Street. There is a very pretty creek that runs through there and the colorful buildings make for some great pictures.

CRUISE ENDICOTT ARM & DAWES GLACIER

The captain did a great job maneuvering through the fjord and we had great views of all sides of the fjord due to the way he turned the ship.

Juneau, Alaska

Juneau was enjoyable. We did the tour of Mendenhall Glacier and loved it. Be sure to dress for rain. It is a rainforest and according to tour guides in all of the ports, it always rains in Juneau.

Skagway, Alaska

This was our favorite port. If you can do the train ride it is wonderful. We did the tour where we went up on the train and came back on a shuttle. This was really great because the guide stopped at some very scenic spots for us to take pictures. If you like Christmas decor, you must stop in at the Alaska Christmas Store on Broadway St.

Be sure to follow the directions that the ship gives you and it will be very easy to get off. They are very efficient and it will benefit you to do it their way.

We are booked on the Solstice for an upcoming cruise. We currently have a balcony cabin on deck 8, but are considering upgrading to an Aqua Class cabin. Did you notice any noise coming from the pool deck above your cabin - either chairs being moved, loud music, people taking, etc? Thank you.

I did this cruise last year with my sister. Loved it so much, doing it again in September with my best friend and my daughter .
