Review summary

After weeks of little to no rain in Alaska, it all happened this week😢 Whatcha gonna do!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
This was our first time to set sail from Seattle and it was a breeze with at least 20 check in stations open.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
No problem getting a drink at the Martini. The bartenders are very good. We had very good food and excellent service in the MDR. I will skip Tuscan in the future just cause it's not that special other than the actual location, which is very nice.

Murano Restaurant

5 out of 5

Murano remains a fav. Food and service are always excellent and this time was no different. Save room for souffles!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Attended all the podium presentations which have been very well done by both presenters.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Singers and dancers were very good. The bands are always excellent. All of the musicians are excellent and DJ does a nice job of trying to read the crowd. Comedy and magic always fall short.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Can never say enough about the excellent crew! Our steward Sinclaire from Jamaica was wonderful. Our dinner team, Tinaris and Cajitan, Tables 412&413, were the best! And Kelley, our cruise director, was always helpful and perky.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Although she's definitely ready for refurbishment, the crew did a great job of keeping things neat and clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin showed some wear and tear, but was always kept neat and clean. Balcony and outdoor seating were in sad shape. Friends just came off a Viking sail and were impressed by the size.

Ship tip

Get a good look at the outdoor signs when you arrive so you know where to go when you disembark for Uber, etc.

Ports of call

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
We did the hike and float. Young folks will say it was moderate. I'm in very good shape, but the terrain, in addition to going up some 600 ft., is covered by tree roots making it more strenuous. Our guide wore flip flops! Don't even try it!! The float was great after that. Only time it barely rained. I would never try it in pouring rain. Which it did when we returned to town.

Victoria, British Columbia

5 out of 5
Never tire of visiting Buchart Gardens. This is one port that deserves so much more time than the cruise line is giving it. A full day at a minimum please!!

Ketchikan, Alaska

4 out of 5
First hike into Tongass National Forest. It was really nice and easy. Be sure and see the historic totem poles not replicas.

Seattle, Washington

5 out of 5
Great city. We stayed near Space Needle so could easily walk to places.

CRUISE ENDICOTT ARM & DAWES GLACIER

1 out of 5
Biggest disappointment of the trip where we had wind and rain pretty consistently the whole trip. When we were approaching this area, both pilots and our bridge team determined it was too windy at the mouth and were unable to enter the area😢

Cruise Inside Passage, Alaska

5 out of 5
Our third trip to AK and it never gets tiring looking out on that landscape.

Juneau, Alaska

4 out of 5
Our second trip into Tongass where we first visited the beautiful gardens and then were driven through the forest.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
The ship process is always well organized. However, Customs did not initially have enough staff in port. Two ships funneling into the baggage area left little room as lines piled up. Tip-One get in line and if possible, the other gather the luggage! Patience helps. Friends who were flying elsewhere signed up for the airport/baggage transfer for $30 each and it was a breeze.

Appreciate your feedback. Glad you didn’t let Mother Nature ruin your trip.

Glad you were able to enjoy most of it. Mid July through the end of the cruising season in Alaska tends to have the most rain. May and June are the best times to cruise for less chance of rain.
