Review summary

The ship is a mess, the entire 9th floor didn’t have hot water for days. Our room had major issues including the heat not working and either going full blast and turning our room into a sauna, or blowing cold air and turning our room into a freezer. For 4 days we had to deal with that until it was fixed. Room service food was awful and one morning it didn’t even show up at all. Other times when it did it was at least twice as long as they said it would be and cold when it arrived. Other food on the ship was truly disgusting. Bread so hard you couldn’t cut through it. Rotten vegetables. Poorly seasoned food. Lobster bisque with no lobster. And don’t even get me started on the buffet…. The worst food quality I’ve ever seen on any ship. And I’ve been on carnival ships.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Rotten lettuce in salads, bread so hard you couldn’t cut through it. Everyone on the ship was complaining. I’ve been in other celebrity cruises and the food was great, don’t expect the same from this one.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Not much to do at all. Very bare bones ship.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Our room steward and butler were amazing. The casino staff is great as well! The restaurants staff was hit or miss, some great, some not good at all.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The ship needs updating bad.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Size was good, bathroom had a bathtub which was nice. Lots of space for storage! The balcony has a huge long overhang which makes it hard to see mountains and views. I definitely would have preferred a balcony without an overhang, especially one as big. And especially for an Alaskan cruise where you’re constantly looking out your window and off of your balcony.

Ship tip

Skip this ship and do one of the other ones. I’ve always loved Celebrity, but this experience was bad.

I love Victoria but the ship got there at 6:30 pm and we left at midnight, completely pointless.

Wow! I hope everything gets fixed and ironed out soon!! My first cruise was on the Solstice in 2018. It was wonderful. In September I will be on the Solstice again. But I sure hope all the issues get fixed!!
